I arrived on Australia Day and was able to check in straight away so staffing levels were good.
I had a budget twin room which had air con, from the front I did not think there was a window to the room but there was. Room was basic but was clean and not shabby at all. Bathroom was separate and meant going outside.
There was a swimming pool which we did not use.
Staff and locals were great and made us welcome. They gave us advice and helpful tips for our onward journey.

Room Tip: I preferred this hotel to the one on the south side of the border (Glendambo, where I also stayed...

It was our next overnight stop on the way north and we weren't expecting much from a roadhouse. We were pleasantly surprised; caravan sites were quite good with access to all facilities. The pub was great, wonderful atmosphere and nice meals.

As of August, Kulgera roadhouse is under new management. The directors Reg and Chris have taken on board the comments and are working at rectifying any past and present issues that have arisen. As for fuel more expensive up the road, we have tried to keep things in line and have not noticed more than a few cents variation since taking over.
Please come in and say gday to our friendly staff. The beers are cold and we also have great coffee now too!
Also check out our facebook page "Kulgera Roadhouse" for some great photos and what has been happening.
Cheers
Chris

If you're looking for a place to stay on Stuart Hwy for one night, this place is just fine. The rooms are simple, but of good size, clean and with good bathroom facilities. Unfortunately no cooking is possible in the rooms, this is because of some pest issues, but the pub is right there with reasonably priced meals considering its very remote location.

We stopped overnight at Kulgera whilst travelling from Coober Pedy to Yulara. Whilst the camp ground and amenities were a little rough and ready the baked meal we had in the bar was outstanding. Unfortunately the fuel at this site was much more expensive than the roadhouse another 80kms up the road. Something to consider if you are making this trip.

A very nice pub ,full of lots of memorabilia, meals were good, beer a bit expensive, but to be expected out here. There was a young touring band playing there ,and we had a great nite.Very friendly staff.the caravan park was a bit run down, but was only $20 per van per nite.

Room Tip: as we stayed in a caravan,we do not know what the rooms were like, but appeared ok from outside

With little options between Coober pedy and Ayers Rock whilst on the road, Kulgera in summary, would be a place best suited to camp. The supposed deluxe suite for a family, had one the of worst showers I have ever experienced and a continual noise all night long and day due to rain. We never quite worked out what was happy about the happy hour in terms of prices!
