Katherine Hot Springs is easily accessible. Water temperature is surprisingly cool - but it is a "thermal" spring, not a "hot" spring, so don't expect hot spa temperatures. However, water is definitely warmer than near-by swimming pools or rivers - and crocodile free (a definite bonus!).

I love the hot springs natures miracle , but realy hate the new tree sprinkler system, it wets all you're clothes and Towels as you work along you get wet it makes it unpleasant , it spoils the place , I preferred the smell of the bats .

We were put of by previous reviews, hence leaving this, until the last day.
We were pleasantly surprised at how close to town and clean it was.
We only saw a few pieces of litter, of which you would see anywhere. Short walk and steps down from carpark, made this accesible for almost anybody.
There is plenty of seating in the shade, for those that do not want to go in the springs.
The water is clear, not hot, but pleasantly warm

The water is only 32C, which is not hot at all. So don't expect a Japanese onsen temperature otherwise you will end up disappointed.

The water is not deep at all so is suited to young kids. It's not as big as I expected and looks more like a pool rather than a natural spring.

There is no change room onsite so you will have to get changed in the hotel beforehand.

This place can get crowded....so the best time to go is in the morning when it feels hot compared to the outside temperature and there is no-one there except for the odd backbacker. Really nice to swim through the bubbles of the lower little waterfall and chill out.
