Owner description: Spectacular all year - see this area from the ground in the dry season, and from the air in the wet season. The Jim Jim Area is only accessible by 4WD during the dry season. Visitors can explore the spectacular and challenging walks or take a boat shuttle ride to Twin Falls over crystal clear waters (charges apply). Scenic flights are also very popular, and allow visitors to see the spectacular Jim Jim Falls, which are in full flow only during the wet season

We took a chopper flight to enjoy the great falls, but apparently visiting Jim Jim Falls during wet season wasn't really a good idea. I think it'd be nicer to do it during dry time, as we'd have a clearer view & brighter sky for perfect photo session

The roads were closed because of the wet season so we flew in the Kakadu Air helicopter over Jim Jim and Twin Falls. It was amazing. Tate, our pilot, did a great job narrating and flying. He took us low and slow over the falls and wetlands. (I could see the fixed wing plane over the falls at a much higher altitude than us.) Tate had taken the front doors off, it was incredible to feel the 90 knot wind just outside the bubble and to take photos without the distorting Perspex in the way. We will remember the flight long after we have forgotten the price. Thanks Tate. Oh, the falls are awesome.

A vacation in Australia is not complete when you haven't seen the Jim Jim Falls. This place is so extraordinary. A 4WD is really necessary and tours are not always going to there, but try to see them anyhow.

Please take a swim when you are there.

As it was October, it was not surprisingly a blazing hot day and as we negotiated our way along the rocky path to Jim Jim there was a fair bit of teen grumbling going on, but once we got to the Falls, stunned silence was a tribute to the stunning scenery. We all swam and it was one of those priceless moments floating in the midst of the giant rock pool gazing up at the towering cliffs
