“2 day Kakadu tour”

Wonderful way of seeing Kakadu. Our guide dan really made our trip. His knowledge, banter and the respect for the park and it's people was very evident.
Bonus points for the amazing buffalo sausages

“Completely ruined our holiday!! ”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014 via mobile

Flew all the way from Melbourne to Darwin with my old dad to specifically go on a Kakadu 2 day camping/4WD trip. Peterpan Darwin booked us with Kakadu Dreams who messed up the booking and sent us on a bus to Lynchfield. By the time we caught wind that we were sent on the wrong bus we were already half way to Lynchfield and stranded on the bus with no other tours available for Kakadu for the next few days. We missed out on a overnight stay in Kakadu and an item on my old mans bucket list as I had to catch my flight back due to work commitments. Peterpan Darwin gave our money back and tried to get us to hire a 4WD for $360 dollars off them and drive ourselves up, however the rental place opens at 9am so we would get to Kakadu at 12, missing half the day. They didn't offer anything else as they said it was an admin error from Kakadu Dreams and they weren't liable and we would have to pay for the 4WD. Instead of playing pass the buck (after a full day on the bus we didn't want to be on and arriving back in Darwin at 6:45pm + with only the next day to visit Kakadu before we fly back home) we got in our regular hire car and drove to Kakadu at 4:30am arriving at 7:30am in the morning to make up time we had lost but couldn't go to the places we wanted to go because all the 4WD tours(only way to get to Jim Jim and other iconic locations) were fully booked and we only could see a fraction of the park we traveled all the way from Melbourne to see. Obviously we are furious that Peter Pan and Kakadu Dreams ruined our trip and wasted thousands of dollars on flights and accommodation and didn't even offer us a voucher or anything to redeem themselves as they wanted to play the liable game with Kakadu Dreams. Word of advice... avoid agencies who contract other companies, they will reject any liability when things go wrong... go straight to the tour companies and book your most sort after activities early on in your schedule as if it gets messed up you have options. In Kakadu Dreams defence the tour guide to Lynchfield was a amazing guide and really tried to get us to enjoy Lynchfield. He was very sympathetic, even getting teary eyed when apologizing on behalf of his company as he understood the significance of this once in a lifetime trip to us. He is the only reason I'm not giving this pair of companies 0 stars. Thanks for wasting our time and money with your carelessness, pass the buck attitude and not reconciling the damage and stress we have suffered as a result of trusting your company with our holiday.

“Litchfield Dreams tour: My highlight of Darwin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014 via mobile

An absolutely amazing day. Hotel pick up, morning tea, snake handling, croc spotting, a massive lunch, swimming under waterfalls, relaxing in the rocky pools, afternoon tea, termite mounds and hotel drop off. Fun filled day, the sites were absolutely spectacular. Although you can visit without a guided tour I would definitely recommend it; we saw many tourists almost enter croc infested waters, get lost etc. Joey (our tour guide) has many fascinating stories, has loads of experience and made the day very enjoyable. Well worth the $, would definitely do this again. Didn't think I would return to the top end but certainly want to after this experience!

“Best part of my trip!”

My brother and I did the 2 day kakadu tour and it was definitely the highlight of our 1 month trip in Australia. Our tour guide, Tom, was absolutely amazing, very knowledgable, friendly, funny, personable, and experienced. Our group consisted of 7 people so it was a very intimate tour, but Tom helped it make it feel like we were all old friends catching up. Not a single complaint and I will be recommending this tour to any friends going to Darwin. Thank you Tom and Kakadu Dreams!

We booked the Litchfield trip and the two day/one night to Kakadu and it was a fitting end to our trip to Australia-Brad and Dan were great fun and very knowledgeable and above all were very approachable- also we were able to see some amazing evidence of Aboriginal art and some stunning views-would suggest that you need a certain level of fitness particularly doing the climb on the second day at a venue Dan called the "The castle"-overall would certainly recommend
