“Had an amazing time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

Stayed at Aurora Kakadu In December 2013. The staff were very welcoming. The room was very spacious. The outside and pool was kept very clean. Free parking outside the building. I really can't find any fault in this hotel. I would come back.

The hotel has their own petrol station, convenience store, tour desk, restaurant and bar.

Room Tip: We stayed on an upper floor, which got us our own balcony :)

We paid about $120 for a ensuite room on the second level. The room was really nice, clean and spacious with a high ceiling. The toilets were big as well. The room could sleep 3 - came with a double bed and a single bed, a TV, bar fridge (two bottles of complimentary water given), closet, small table with two chairs and a balcony. There was a thunderstorm on the night when we were there and we lost reception on the TV. The hotel is well-maintained. There is only 1 BBQ area with two pits - if you do want to BBQ, go early! It was a very relaxing stay. Recommended!

Room Tip: Take the upper level for the high ceiling which feels good.

Based purely on room standards and facilities, I couldn't give this place any more than 3 stars. I've given it four stars because even though the accomodation is pretty basic - the rooms are clean and tidy, the facilities are reasonable and the staff are helpful and friendly.
We stayed here one night as part of a tour package and enjoyed the experience. The dinner (and breakfast) were both good - although a little on the expensive side. The pool area is very good and the grounds are well maintained.
We were perfectly satisfied.

We stayed here for four nights .Room was large and well serviced with two complimentary bottles of water each per day. Very important in this hot climate. Staff were friendly and HELPFUL. Pool great as were the walking tracks to and around the lagoon. Food was great with breakfast part of the $130 per night tariff. Visited all points of interest such as Ubirr ,Jim Jim and twin falls,Cooinda and Yellow waters . Do not miss the Crocodiles actively feeding on Mullet at Cahills crossing when the tide comes over the causeway. Tide times are available from the border store. We had Eleven lined up with the largest being 4m plus. Also saw the rare Black Dingo and the Chestnut Quilled rock pigeon at a site just down from Cahills crossing.

We stayed here for three nights. As we drove through the grounds the buildings did not look attractive, so we were pleasantly surprised on entering our room. The buffet meals in the restaurant were excellent, We walked the trails leading from the grounds to the billabong etc. It was an easy drive to Ubirr with amazing Aboriginal rock art and scenery, and also even nearer was the Bowali visitor centre and the Mamukala wetland reserve, with many thousands of birds,

It was a beautiful place with friendly staff. Food at dinner was good quality. Felt it was a little expensive needed to eat a lot of food to get your value. Other wize pricing for room and drinks where good.

Clean, quiet, very nice pool, easy trail for forest and billabong walk but removed from many Kakadu opportunities such as Cooinda (yellow waters) and Ubirr. The drive to Jabiru (at 130 km/hr) was 30 minutes and almost an hour to Cooinda. Location is convenient for return to Darwin or Fogg Dam area but not Kakadu attractions south of Jabiru. The facility has a limited restaurant hours and small convenience store with limited inventory. The small grocery and fantastic bakery in Jabiru are the closest alternative food sources.
