Decent location, good room size, VERY DANGEROUS WARDROBE!! Not fixed to wall and when we opened it it started to fall onto us, no injuries, but could have been much worse especially for a child.

Restaurant only open for breakfast (?) dinner had to be taken in very tiny Bistro, no table service but food still at restaurant prices!

No wifi or cell phone coverage, internet in reception but at AUD6 for 30 minutes, a complete rip off, every room had a Tv with free use at much higher cost to the hotel, one PC in reception at minimal cost and they want to rip you off with high charges for that, pure profiteering!

Room Tip: Not all rooms have vehicle parking close to them, so check this out when you are at reception

We stayed 2 nights in a Deluxe Family Room (ground floor) with our 15 and 12 year olds. The room was modern and very spacious, with a huge bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was serviced daily. The grounds were lovely and green surrounded by many trees, and plenty of birdlife. The pool was nice with plenty of shade. The location was peaceful and quiet. The staff were very accommodating. We arrived early and were able to check in as soon as our room was ready, and every enquiry we made was dealt with by friendly staff. Very happy with the price we paid for our room. The only negative would be the cost of an evening meal in the restaurant - but given the remoteness of the location, all food and drink was expensive in Kakadu, and prices were on par with surrounding Kakadu resorts.

Room Tip: Recommend a renovated deluxe room

This property is located on the western edge of the South Alligator River floodplain and is close to many opportunities for wildlife spotting, especially birds and wallabies. There is a restaurant at the resort offering good wholesome food presented buffet style in the mornings and evenings. You won't go away hungry. Rooms are well spread out around the tropical grounds and encircling a decent sized swimming pool. Service was friendly and very good but a number of the usual modern amenities are missing. There is no mobile phone service despite it being available just a few km away and surprising there is also no wi-fi set up. The refurbished rooms have state of the art televisions and a nice little clock radio to pick up the ABC. Overall a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Some rooms have old TV sets which can sometimes get two channels, so specify that you want one with...

I stayed here in September 2013, and I enjoyed every minute of my stay! The rooms are well presented (with air conditioning), beds a very comfortable, great gardens with ducks running around, nice big pool. A perfect place for anyone! Not overpriced at all! Only drawbacks is it is about 30 minutes drive to Jabiru (which can't be helped) and the restaurant closes at 8:30pm, which is a bit early. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Compliments to the staff and management.

Aurora Kakadu was a bit of an Oasis for our family after each day of hiking and swimming in the various waterfalls and plunge holes.
It has a good restaurant and a swimming pool that is cool and inviting.
Its location is both good an bad. Been 40km from Jabiru the hotel restaurants are about the only place you can eat for miles. You also don't get internet or mobile phone access making catching up and work slightly difficult. The last is probably the most important, it takes extra time to get to most attractions in Kakadu being where it is. On the other hand, you are also away from the noise and small town issues Jabiru will have.
Overall, we loved the stay even though it was a bit far and the incommuicato gave us excuse to disappear of the map for a few days.
One more thing. The staff were great from a seemless check in, travel and tour recommendations and food preparations.

The superior room itself was modern and clean, except for some spider webs on the wall and in the lamps. It was a shame that the TV has only three or four channels and has a fuzzy reception. The beds were quite comfortable but because the walls are thin, you can hear the air conditioning unit clanging away on the side of the cabin. There is a note from the management in the room recommending that you don't drink the water and as they only supply two small bottles per room, you should probably consider taking your own water so you don't have to buy it.
