Guluyambi Boat Tour - An Aboriginal owned and operated company was definitely a highlight of our trip I find it amazing that there are so few reviews.

This is not a slick talk from a charter boat cruise host; this is a sharing of cultures by people that live their culture. Yes you may have to listen closely as there is no microphone but the information that is shared is unique and with a small group it is easy.

The opportunity to spend even 15 mins walking on Arnhem land (usually permits are required) and absorb the history around the place is incredible.

The explanation of plant life and their uses, what is used to make weapons, how these are used and actual demonstrations of how they are used, makes you feel privileged to have this insight.

The focus is on traditional Aboriginal culture and its place in Arnhem land, not a lecture, more a sharing of information that has been passed on through countless generations.

Seeing the rock art, the examples of how high the river rises during flood, the history of the causeway crossing, how the people and the land got their European names is interesting.

I hope many more will experience and appreciate this sharing of culture.

The cruise was great, the river is beautiful however the knowledge imparted by our guide was the highlight.
On the border between Arnhem Land and Kakadu and surrounded by many sacred places,I felt lucky to be able to see it. Great to hear Terrence talk about his people and culture and share their history.
Recommend it highly.

the Guluyambi Boat Tour is a great way to see Arnhemland especially since you actually get to hop off the East Alligator river and walk traditional Indigenous land, without having to get a permit as you would normally, to enter their sacred land. A great little cruise.
You also get experience and use some traditional weapons and it is accompanied with great commentary along the whole cruise.

We went on this tour earlier this month and found it well worth the money spent. The tour takes in the East Alligator River, and focuses on the local Aboriginal culture. Our aboriginal guide, Robert, showed us plenty of crocs, educated us about his culture and even took us on to Arnhem Land for some spear throwing demonstrations. The tour group size is small, making it a little more personal. Highly recommended.

A friend (celebrating a special birthday) and I took this cruise last weekend. It had been recommended to us and we could not have wished for a more remarkable experience with Terence of Guluyambi on the beautiful East Aligator River. He spoke eloquently and confidently of his culture and language and shared and charmed us with his beautiful spirit, skills and sense of humour. It was a wonderful privilege to be able to join him on this cruise. and we would recommend this tour to ANYONE, EVERYONE who wanted to learn about aboriginal culture and visit spectacular country. The fee charged was very reasonable. Wouldn't have missed it for the world and look forward to another visit in the future. Thank you so very much.
