Guluyambi Boat Tour - An Aboriginal owned and operated company was definitely a highlight of our trip I find it amazing that there are so few reviews.
This is not a slick talk from a charter boat cruise host; this is a sharing of cultures by people that live their culture. Yes you may have to listen closely as there is no microphone but the information that is shared is unique and with a small group it is easy.
The opportunity to spend even 15 mins walking on Arnhem land (usually permits are required) and absorb the history around the place is incredible.
The explanation of plant life and their uses, what is used to make weapons, how these are used and actual demonstrations of how they are used, makes you feel privileged to have this insight.
The focus is on traditional Aboriginal culture and its place in Arnhem land, not a lecture, more a sharing of information that has been passed on through countless generations.
Seeing the rock art, the examples of how high the river rises during flood, the history of the causeway crossing, how the people and the land got their European names is interesting.
I hope many more will experience and appreciate this sharing of culture.
