They said it was not normal weather to be wet still at this time. The Jim Jim and Twin Falls routes were not open yet (late May), so we went to Gunlom and Maguk. These were still good, and we saw the others on a flight.

The tour started a little late (I think the first group ran late for pick-up in Jabiru).

We drove down to Gunlom first. Stopped at a good termite mound and learned a lot about them. Very interesting and a good break from the drive.

The 4wd to Gunlom was long and rough. We saw wild horses (donkeys) and a dingo on the way.
Lots of folks at Gunlom. Did the hike (it is a hike) to the pools at the top of the falls. It is well worth the hike. The non-hikers stayed at the pool at the bottom.

We had lunch after coming down. Then the ride back to the main road and then to Maguk.

Maguk is a good walk - no hike but a rough trail over slippery sandy rocks, sand, and water. The pool is deep and not crowded.

The ride back was quiet, as most people were sleeping. We saw more wild horses, and a dingo near a dead water buffalo.

A great time even without Jim Jim Falls.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts of your Gagudju Adventure Tour.

We were glad to see that you enjoyed your trip with us and I really like your review and the way you have explained for the fellow travelers. Did you know Gunlom was recently voted in as one of Australia’s Top 40 Secret Spots by Hooroo?

I will share your feedback with our Gagudju Adventure Tour Guides who I am sure will be thrilled to see that they made your trip memorable.

Did you get the chance to do a Yellow Water cruise during your visit?

Many Thanks

Fantastic tour guide shaun but main attractions we booked to see closed due to flood damage on the road, along with many other attractions. Shaun planned to take us to the 2 main rock art sites, but we had been there independently the day before. We would have preferred to go there with Shaun, his knowledge is vast and the experience would have been great. It put Shaun in a difficult position trying to work out what to show us, but we still had a great day. I would suggest that the tour owner maybe should have sent us an email with a revised itinerary maybe a day or 2 before so we could plan around it.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Gagudju Adventure Tour.

During the "Green Season", Kakadu National Park experiences seasonal closures for various locations around the park, and our Gagudju Adventure Tour will always aim to take visitors to the best available locations on the day. Sean is a very knowledgeable and experienced guide, and I trust that he was able to produce a memorable day trip for you!

Did you have the chance to see the Warradjan Cultural Centre whilst you were in Kakadu? It is a great place to see to gain some insightful knowledge of the local indigenous culture.

Thanks again, and we hope to welcome you back to Kakadu in the future.

This day tour was one of the highlights of our week in Kakadu. Our guide, Dean, was friendly, informative and professional. The drive was a little hair raising - but that was part of the fun! They're not kidding when they say you need a decent level of fitness to undertake this tour. The walks to and from both waterfalls involve clambering over big boulders... not for the faint-hearted!
For a full description of the day see my blog at http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-blog-entries/slice_n_dice/3/1344703632/tpod.html. I definitely recommend this tour and the whole Gagudju Lodge experience.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Gagudju Adventure Tour.

The drive and the walk are certainly part of the whole experience- it is definitely called the "adventure" tour for a reason! I am very glad to hear you had a great time and enjoyed the service our tour guide provided you.

Did you take some interesting photos on the day? If so, please feel free to share them on our Facebook Page (Gagudju Dreaming - The Spirit of Kakadu).

Thanks again, and we hope to welcome you back to Kakadu in the future.

Had an amazing day with our terrific tour guide, Kerry. We got to see the picturesque twin falls and swam at Jim Jim falls. Wouldn't recommend to people that don't like hiking or don't go well on slippery rocks. The walks were still great and the photo opportunities were wonderful. Lunch was fantastic. They gave you plenty to eat and we even got morning tea and afternoon tea. The tour guide was great and taught us a lot about the falls and the aboriginal culture and way of life. Definitely the tour to go on when wanting to explore Jim Jim and twin falls. Had an amazing day and definitely not something I will forget soon.

This was a great trip, definitely worth taking if you are a little hesitant about the 4wding to get to any of the Kakadu attractions. After a prompt pick up from the hotel (don't forget your park passes) we drove to Cooinda where we were separated into two 4wd trucks. The first part is on corrugated road, but then there was some tough tracks until the river crossing- our a/c didn't kick in till about three quarters of the way through so it was pretty tough going!

Once we arrived at Twin falls, a lazy boat ride took us to the short (but very slippery) walk to the falls. This was definitely not a walk I would like my grandma to take, not for the difficulty but for the slipperyness- good shoes are a must.

No swimming at Twin falls, great picutre opportunity but we were all excited for Jim Jim falls. After another journey in the 4wd we arrived at the base and were given some fantastic packed lunches to carry up ourselves. Not heavy and easy to hold, full of cool water and tasty food, it was much better than we expected.

This walk was longer and perhaps a slightly steeper incline, but felt easier due to the better grip on the walks. It is important to note that both walks are very rocky and big leaps and moves are required, so mobility is a must.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your Gagudju Adventure Tour; it is great to share your experiences for other guests to understand the physical endurance involved in visiting Jim Jim and Twin Falls.

I am sorry to hear that you experienced problems with the air-conditioning on this day, we are expecting the delivery of our new Luxury 4wd Vehicle in the coming weeks which the team are very excited about. This will add another memorable experience for the full day tour.

With the dry season so beautiful in Kakadu National Park, the main swimming areas like Jim Jim Falls, Maguk and Gunlom are just so relaxing and enjoyable.

Did you get the chance to experience Yellow Water Billabong?

We offer the Yellow water fishing which provides an opportunity to catch the famous barramundi on Kakadu's most famous billabong. Fishing experiences of 3 hours are perfect for novices and families to experience the thrill of fishing these waters with the guidance of an experienced fishing guide.

If you were able to capture any good pictures of Kakadu National Park whilst you were here, we would love to see your pictures. If you follow us on Facebook we love seeing any pictures that guests add and we keep this page updated with anything new and exciting. Our name on Facebook is Gagudju Dreaming, we would love to see you on there.

Wishing you all of the best for 2012.
