Early start - even more so if you are staying as we werew in Jabiru but worth every minute of lost sleep. We were lucky enough to have Murray as our guide. A lovely man with a sense of humour that matched his knowledge. He had years of experience and a real empathy with the wild life and birds as well as an incredible willingness and patience to ensure we got the most out of our two hours on the river. What bird life you see is totally random but we saw enough to be sated yet Murray was disappointed that we didn't see more. He seemed to know each nesting parent and besides finding three day old chicks he still crammed in moments of absolute calm. The odd croc did not disappoint and again, Murray new where to find them.

After all this, the inclusive breakfast was a real treat and very well organised.

This was my first time to Kakadu and I thought the Yellow Water cruise was a great way to see some different sites including the abundance of birds and crocs. I missed the tour where the guests witnessed a wallaby being taken by a croc but we did see a raptor snatch a fish from the water in front of us. I was told the sunrise tour is the best and it did not disappoint!

We went on the 9am, 2 hr cruise, and would have been happy if they had kept on going for longer. We saw some great birds, great crocodiles, and had excellent explanations of what was around the river, its history etc. It was very relaxing. The guys running the cruise were very friendly, knowledgeable and shared their great Aussie humour. And no problems with mosquitoes! It cost $100 per person but this included breakfast afterwards. What's more if you go on one cruise you can go on a second one for only $25 each - that was a great idea as there are different birds and beasts around at different times! The sunrise cruise is very popular.

We enjoyed a mid morning cruise on Yellow Water, which gave us the opportunity to see an abundance of bird life, about which our guide was very knowledgeable. The sighting of three crocodiles also excited and we couldn't praise enough the guide for manoeuvring the boat about so as to give everyone a close up view of these prehistoric beasts. Overall it was an enjoyable little cruise along what is an otherwise non-descript bit of water. I wouldn't go back again, but it is certainly one of those things that you just have to do if you're in Kakadu.

Very disappointing, the guide was not well informed, he was more interested in telling jokes. Hardly any wild life, overall I would give it 2 out of ten.
