This crossing has a notorious reputation as it is tidal and full of crocodiles so crossing when the tide is high or changing is risky business. This crossing goes from Kakadu across to Arnhemland so it doesn't limit access to Kakadu national park and taking the crossing when water is on it should be not taken lightly. Its also a great vantage point for watching crocodiles in the river, both top and bottom sides of the crossing but stay off the crossing and well away from the banks (the viewing platform is a great addition to the crossing infrastructure).

Worth the drive to see such a huge amount of crocs in a small space. We went as the tide changed and watched the crocs for an hour as they displayed some very efficient fish catching behaviour. There’s a small restaurant around the corner for a cold drink and a snack afterwards too. Highly recommend.

Make sure you time your visit for high tide and you won't be disappointed, the crocs came from down stream and caught the current over the crossing like they were surfing, easy to be complacent and get a bit close down near the water ,so please take care

What a spot to spend a lazy few hours. You can travel quite some distance in a boat to see less "laughing logs". I've been to the NT at least 10 times over the years and there is no site with such a large number of crocs in close proximity. I understand that by normal standards the congregation of crocs in this area is the largest. It is a bonus that you can view them closely without the need of a boat. The viewing facility has been well built and a bonus is to watch a mug traveller get within half a metre of the waterline to recover a barra. Moron, there has been a few casualties here but they never learn.
