“Lapland - the last adventure”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

It was just an unforgettable experience hosted by Johan and Eva during our trip to the north. 5 friends wanted to feel the north, aside of the large unpersonalized mass tourism. We found the place and Johan which made us feel we are friends since years. He organized the 2 day dog sledge adventure with an overnight stay in the wilderness. During the snowmobile trip to the Icehotel he was our guide, coach and the towing service when we missed the track ;-).
The guesthouse is one of the most lovely spots I've seen in the north. The passion how Johan has renovated the old buildings and build individual, lovely guestrooms into it is just unbelievable.
The kitchen was also great, the salmon from Eve we will not forget for a long time.
Last but not least I have to mention the block-house sauna with wood-fired stoves. Later we enjoyed the whirlpool outside overlooking the frozen Lainio river - unbeatable!
Looking forward to come back to Lapland Incentive - probably next year.
I hope this pearl of a guesthouse keeps its individualism - Eva and Johan are just wonderful hosts.
Thank you both - you made this experience unforgettable for us!

Lapland Incentive is THE place to go for Sweden's finest - Snowmobiling, Ice FIshing, Husky rides and other lapland activities. I was there for 4 days with my family and I must say Johan and his team made us feel at home almost immediately upon our arrival. They also provided us with an experience like no other. The guesthouse is the ultimate location to catch the northern lights. I can't thank Eva enough for the authentic Swedish cuisine we have been treated to at Wardshusett Guesthouse. I strongly urge everyone who wants an unforgettable lapland experience and most of all to catch the Northern Lights to experience it, the LAPLAND INCENTIVE way. They are truly the best Sweden has to offer. Johan and team, Thanks once again!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Johan organised our activities very well. Snowmobiling to ice fish and also to see Einar and his reindeers. Dog sledding, a trip to Ice Hotel and a visit to the moose farm. We had a day cross-country skiing along the frozen river and to the beautiful frozen marshland. We enjoyed the sauna and the hot tub. It is an excellent place to see the northern lights especially on the frozen river which is only a few minutes walk away. Excellent extreme weather clothing is provided and also warm dressing gowns and reindeer slippers for visits to the sauna and hot tub.The meals are excellent, including the campfire lunches.
Many thanks to Johan, Eva and also Ingar.

Johan and Eva have created the most wonderful guesthouse on the side of a beautiful lake. Johan took us out snow-mobiling to meet his Sami reindeer herder friend, where we had lunch cooked on an open fire, and then huskie driving all the next day through stunning deep snow-covered landscapes [back in the dark]. They are great hosts and full of enthusiasm for their venture, the food is great and I can't remember when we've had a more enjoyable 3 days; and check out the traditional log fired sauna and adjacent hot tub under the stars - or northern lights if you're lucky.

My partner and I have travelled to several locations over the past years in Norway, Finland, Iceland and Sweden. By far this is the best place we have found. It combines an excellent experience of the arctic with warm friendly (and very tasty) hospitality. We have done huskies a few times before but I have to say the musher used by Johan was excellent. The dogs were so fit healthy and happy.

The sauna is a must. We arrived and within 1/2hr the two of us were sat in the open air jacuzzi watching the Northern lights (It was -10 degrees!) Fabulous hospitality with plenty of jaw dropping scenery and some good stories and local stuff thrown in.

Look forward to going back.

This wonderful place has soul. Johan and Eva are marvellous hosts. The guesthouse embraces traditional style with faithful attention to detail. Lit by candle and firelight it is a tranquil and comfortable place to relax. The meals were outstanding both in quality and new experience (moose burgers a particular favourite!). The cabin we slept in was cosy and snug.

During our stay we experienced so many varied activities it is hard to believe that we were only there 3 days. Our snowmobile trip out at night across the frozen swamp to see the aurora was fantastic and thanks to Johan’s photography we have a lasting memento on film. It was a special calm delight to spend time with Einar and his reindeer and thoroughly exhilarating to drive Sebastian’s huskies through the breathtakingly beautiful wilderness.

Woven through all of this has been our enjoyment of interesting conversations with Eva and Johan and the others they have introduced us to. It has given us the sense of learning something about the culture.

And finally....the sauna experience! Quiet tranquil, deeply relaxing. And then across the snow to the hot tub by the frozen river under the crystal clear night sky - beyond compare. I have travelled extensively over the years and this experience is up there with the very best memories.

Room Tip: We chose a cabin with shower and double bed. The room is small but well designed and perfectly comfo...
