Went to this winery as part of a wine tour of the area. Their Chenin Blanc and their Sauvignon Blanc are great and award winners. Very knowledgable , their argentinian guy behind the wine tasting was excellent about wines. Their surroundings are so breath taking. The dog at the property, Raj was friendly. Finished buying three bottles, which I enjoyed back in US. Thanks.

Stopped here on a biking tour, was just closing up but was happy to let us have a tasting. Great wines, many offered in the tasting (free of charge) and lots of info about the site and the business on posters around the cellar door. Worth a visit, and some very reasonably priced and tasty wines available to buy. Great outdoor area as well if you have a picnic!

Excellent experience for our visitors to the region. Loved the old stables built 1890 and refurbished as wine cellar 30 years ago. 'Real' friendly & knowledgeable staff make this historical site very special. Wines are excellent & top value for $. Highest recommendation

We visited the Ngatarawa winery as part of the Grape Escape Wine Tour which we participated in during a recent trip to Napier. This is an old horse stable that has been converted into an attractive winery. The grounds make for a nice atmosphere for wine tasting and spending casual leisure time.

Of the seven wineries visited, Ngatarawa Winery had the largest selection of wines available for tasting and there are good ones to be found here. We were very impressed with the Cellar Door Riesling (2010) in particular, it was smooth, fruity and just sweet enough, making it a lovely wine, one of the best whites we tried during our wine tasting in Hawke's Bay. We were also quite happy with the Noble Harvest Chardonnay (2009), finding it to be our favorite dessert wine tried among the various wineries in the area.

With two very nice wines found at Ngatarawa, this winery scored quite high with us, making it worth a return visit during future trips to Hawke's Bay.
