“Unpretentious and relaxed.”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

Stopped here for lunch. We loved the cheese platters. No hard sell on the wine just friendly owners who like people and produce fantastic wine. I would recommend you stop here, enjoy their food and take away a bottle. The Ploughmans Lunch with home made chutney was lovely.

“Nice spot on the wine trail”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

First time here. We were seated outside for the wine tasting. The man serving us was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. As someone else commented, it's unpretentious and relaxed. The chardonnay was my favorite wine.

“Wonderful place for lunch”
Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

We were cycling around the wineries and this was a perfect spot for lunch and a glass of wine. Its unpretentious and very friendly. We had a platter each (Dukka dip and tapas plate). Both delicious and well priced @ $16 each. Topped off with a glass of the local vino this was just a really nice lunch.

““Make sure you visit this winery in the Hawkess Bay!””
Reviewed December 14, 2013

This winery was an impulsive stop on our way up from Wellington and am so glad it was. We were looking for a coffee but ended up sampling the wine too.

Great atmosphere, friendly people, and good wine. We sat outside and tasted the wine and chatted with the winemaker and his family who run the cellar door. We found it a nice touch to sit and talk with the winemaker about the region, the wines, the food, all while slowly tasting their beautiful wines. We were also able to try some of their great food products of olive oils and jams.

We were treated like old friends who had come for a visit which just made this experience so memorable. We will be making this a regular stop on our visits to the Hawke's Bay.

“Beautiful location but service could have been better”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

Nice day out visiting various wineries, decided to have lunch at this one as the previous couple visited were not open for lunch. Tastings $3 per head which was not too bad, the lady had pretty good knowledge despite being her first day, but would have been nice if all the staff had the same uniforms or dress code, did not come across as very professional. Ordered 3 platters for lunch which, when they came, seemed very overpriced for what there was, and poorly presented. I would go back for the wine but definately not the food.
