This is a great place and is talked up by lots of people in the Bay.
It has a wonderfully interesting menu. The food is almost fantastic (I found it slightly under seasoned). Where they really shine is presentation which is simply outstanding. The price is reasonable, good ambience and very attentive wait staff.
You need time to properly enjoy this place as its more like formal dining. Closed on Wednesday's.

This was about out third lunch at Ten Twenty Four and all have been superb. This was a real treat because it was the 'Discovery Lunch' - you have whatever Kent prepares - with matching wines. However, the lovely Peter contacted us after booking to check on food allergies and strong dislikes, so there's no chance of getting anything you won't eat!

Everything about the food is fantastic: the flavours and presentation are great. The dishes look amazing and the appearance is matched by the taste. Kent's (and his team's) great food are complimented by the great service. Peter looks after you and checks in now and again and our waitress was excellent.

Food and service of this quality shouldn't be so cheap! Not that we're complaining.

Treat yourself, go.

This place has been open 18 months and it has taken us that long to visit the place. We had a Sunday afternoon recently, where we were both free to visit. Upon arrival we were greeted at the front door by a waitress, who was about to take us indoors for lunch, but we requested to sit outside in the courtyard dining. Very nice al fresco feel and even though there were diners inside, the doors were open so they also felt like they were dining outside with the convenience of dining inside. The staff are very attentive and the menu reads well. The only constructive comment I would make is the Wine list is all over the shop - no structure or format with country, price etc. And then on the menu the wine is recommended - it gives 2 prices only. I had to ask what they meant and I think it would be very easy to print on the top Petite Pichet/Grande Pichet. We shared the entrees and a side of potatoes, finishing with a very generous serving of the Origin Earth Camembert & Arataki Honey. Pleased to have had a dining experience there and would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

The food was really great! Top quality ingredients, beautifully prepared and presented, and interesting flavour combinations. We had the steak, salmon and Dory (white fish) with a green salad. All were excellent. The steak was so good that our five year old ate most of it! The salad was the most interesting and best "simple" green salad I have had in years. Also the prices are great and the service was perfect!

Wow, what can I say but bravo, bravo, bravo. Just outside Hastings, this was a lunchtime gastronomic extravaganza. The ambience and food were amazing. The restaurant is a Spanish style building with a beautiful courtyard looking out to a vineyard. The menu is exquisite with great choices, and the presentation and attention to detail is unbelievable. Of course, you are thinking this must come at a price. Oh no, $20NZD for my swordfish main! The different ingredients are a joy, and this was truly a magnificent lunch. They do not open in the evening apart from private functions, but if you want a truly fabulous lunch, 1024 would be hard to beat all over NZ!
