This half day tour was thoroughly enjoyable. Brendan picked us up from our accommodation and proceeded to inform us about wine growing, tasting and the region in a four hour, four vineyard tour. Each winery we visited had its own unique character, and our group of three separate couples were soon enjoying the ambience of the afternoon and each others company.
Overall really enjoyed the day.

Just spent afternoon with Colin and his Odyssey wine tour. We have been on many wine tours all over NZ and Aus and this was by far the best and most enjoyable. Colin was informative and knowledgeable and respected by those people at the vine- yards. .We visited 4 vine-yards on the afternoon tour. All very different but all having amazing wines. At the last one, Odyssey had organised superb platters for us. The 10 people on the trip were all of similar age and we had a whale of a time.

Having never visited a Winery in my life I didn't really no what to expect. There was a group of 6 of us looking for an activity during the day of New Year's eve... The tour with Odyssey was just the ticket. The atmosphere in the van and on the Vineyards was totally relaxed and would appeal to a large range of folks. Our tour guide, Brendon was a good bloke and knew his stuff. Highly recommended.

Our love affair with Odyssey started in the morning when my partner injured his foot, and felt he couldn't partake in any walking activities. We figured we'd book a wine tour, and called two companies which were completely full. We were a bit dejected and headed to the Napier I-Site in search of some other non-walking activities, when the lovely gentleman behind the counter (hi Marty!) called Odyssey to see if they had some openings. Thankfully they did, and an hour later we were en route to the wineries with our group and our guide Colin. And what a fantastic time we had! Colin was very knowledgeable not only about the wines, but also the wineries and the story of the surrounding land. We especially enjoyed spending a leisurely hour or so at Moana Park, where we had the honor of having the owner Dan giving us our very extensive tasting.

As we ended our afternoon with a platter, Colin mentioned that he had to bring the van back for his colleague who was doing an evening tour. Curious, we inquired about it and man did it sound fantastic -- entrée platter and tasting at a first winery, sunset bubbles at Te Mata Peak, main course at a second winery and dessert and dessert wines at a third and final winery. So the next morning, we headed back to the I-Site and booked ourselves on that evening's Twilight tour. The wise and hilarious Brendan picked us up at our B&B and we spent a wonderful evening with him and two lovely ladies from Melbourne. Our first stop was at Vidal's for the entrée platter, and they mean business -- salt and pepper squid, mussels, carpaccio and a salmon terrine were up for grabs. To accompany our food, we had an astounding tasting of eight wines. We then headed to Te Mata Peak with bubbly Pinot Gris for the awesome sunset views. After a few pictures, we descended to Craggy Range for the main course at their award-winning restaurant, Terrôir. I had the duck, which came with beets and the surprising addition of pressed watermelon, while my partner had the lamb -- both dishes were sublime. The food came with generous pours of three wines. We ended our evening with desserts and dessert wines at Mission Estate. The tiramisu and the chocolate fondant were both unctuous and decadent. Good thing we had a driver to take us home, I think we were very close to passing out in a food and wine coma!

All in all we recommend either tour with Odyssey but the evening Twilight tour was something truly special and definitely one of the highlights of our travels in New Zealand.
