“Great place..a must do when in Russell”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

We had Saturday lunch here in wet August . Really nicely decked out place with a true nautical theme and amazing fishing competition photos from yesteryear all around the walls. Excellent food and good portions too. Very friendly staff and in a top location with expansive views across the wharf and beyond. Go there.

“Excellent service and top notch meal”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

We stayed in Russell for a weekend and the Wharf was by far our favourite restaurant. The beer selection is good, the food is excellent quality, and the waiter is the life and soul of the place! He dashed round a very busy restaurant, doing the job of three of four people, and still managed to make sure everyone was fed, watered and content. I highly recommend the fish and chips with a glass of monteiths beer, the pasta was freshly made and very tasty, and the pear tarte tatin for pudding was superb! The location is great, right on the seafront. The Wharf closes quite early, however I expect that is just because the waiter needs a rest after his nightly exertions! Highly recommend.

“A totally amazing dining experience”
Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

We were a party of 4 adults and 1 child that arrived without pre booking, there were a few people there but clearly no problem to get us seated, the place was warm and very inviting. We were served promptly and the wine list and menu while not huge was very impressive and would suit most people I'm sure. The drinks arrived in good time the meal that followed can only be described as sensational. the portion size was spot on, the lamb rack would have to be the best I've eaten (sorry mum it blows yours away) price was reasonable for the food and service and the setting. I would think that this will be a must book first place in the summer season as its right at the waters edge. I cant wait to return.

“Great food, great service, neat place”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

The food, service were great. I had a medium rare melt in your mouth Angus steak, with fries, and a green salad. Wow, didn't want the meal to end. My dessert was pear and peach crumble with fresh whipped cream, and our hot drinks were hot and spot on. Very pleasant experience, great value:)

“Not great...”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Was a busy day with the Birdman weekend in full swing, mid morning, nearly empty cafe, we ordered coffee and were left to wait. After reminding staff, we were presented with the worst, most expensive coffee I have ever tasted...charged $4.90 a cup.....not great
