Stayed here for 3 nights near the start of our honeymoon in NZ and loved every min of it. Sadly Jenny could not be there during our stay but Peter was an excellent host who really made our stay quite special. We looked forward to the amazing breakfasts (even the muesli was home made with home grown ingredients!) and talking with Peter on the balcony of his house looking at the early morning over the bay.

Our cottage was as private as you would want, with cracking views and a short walk down to the water front. Its not far from Russell which is a quite but lovely little village. Worth every penny, I just hope that we will get the chance to go here once more!

The Bay of Islands Cottages are hidden among a lush garden that runs from the road right down to the water. Once inside, it's as if you're the only people within a hundred miles. The cottages are peaceful, well appointed, and very comfortable, with views out over Orongo Bay.

The real highlight for us, though, was breakfast with Peter and Jenny on their deck each morning. Jenny's breakfasts should be famous across the Bay of Islands—each morning brought a different delicacy. One of the highlights of our trip was sitting around the breakfast table with the sun streaming in, talking with Peter and Jenny and other guests.

We have stayed in many B&Bs around the world, and this is simply the best of the lot. We can't wait to go back.

Being 6 months pregnant, I was looking for a quiet relaxing getaway for a few days with my husband. Bay of Islands Cottages certainly did not disappoint!
The owners, Jenny & Peter, were the nicest and most helpful / knowledgeable hosts you could hope for. The breakfasts were to die for, with a different cooked dish each day supplementing their daily spread (home made muesli, yoghurt, fruits, bread , muffins and so on!) My husband also had a great time taking the dinghy out and going fishing one morning.
Overall the accomodation was great, Jenny & Peter had thought of everything, and the views of the bay were divine. All up it was a wonderful place to stay, quiet and self contained cottages combined with a lovely communal atmosphere at breakfast each morning. The location was great, enabling us to explore the area in our hire car each day.

This is not the first time we have stayed here. It's hard to find a B&B where you have your own separate accommodation and can truly relax. This place has it all. It's peaceful, gorgeous view of the sea, private, good-sized sunny deck, beautiful decor, and of course, a fantastic breakfast. Jenny is great about cooking for your needs - gluten free, vegetarian etc. The kids enjoyed exploring the little beach and loved paddling around in the dinghy. Jenny and Peter are great hosts. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I had a wonderful few days at the Bay of Islands Cottages recently. It's such a tranquil place - where you can listen to the bird calls and explore the native bush, as well as enjoy delicious meals with the hosts, Jenny and Peter. They made us feel very welcome. The Cottages are only a short drive from the village of Russell and the beautiful local beaches, and it's a great location from which to explore the sights and history of the Bay of Islands. Our cottage was private and well-appointed, with a large deck to enjoy the view of the bay. We loved the hearty breakfasts and were happy to return to our cosy cottage at the end of our day's exploring the area. If you're heading to the Bay of Islands I would definitely recommend staying here - we can't wait to go back next time we are in New Zealand.
