I have been lucky enough to stay at Eagles Nest twice now and just had to comment on how amazing this place is. Its truely one of the best places you could ever stay in New Zealand. Wonderful staff , amazing views , stunning homes. To wake up and have NZ native Wekas wandering around your garden before you take a dip in the pool is something to treasure. Everything you need is supplied and although Russell is an amzing place , its hard to drag yourself away from your accomadation as you simply want to live every moment. Thanks team - amazing

I visited Eagles Nest the second week of August 2011. What can I say, an incredible place with commanding views from every aspect. I stayed in the Eagle Spirit Villa with my partner and 4 of our good friends. You really do want for nothing, unbelievable views from every bedroom and of course the living area, which with its open fire and full home automation is a hard place to leave. But when you do drag yourself away from the fire and champagne and venture outside you will find a lap pool with infinity edge, expansive decks and of course a lovely hot spa pool. A place like this needs great service, and thats exactly what we got. In fact its not great, its absolutely impeccable. From the time we were greeted by Callum at the chopper pad on arrival too the very end of our stay, we were waited on hand and foot. He even came and collected us from the local bar late one afternoon after a big lunch! Callum also afforded us the opportunity to have a look through the main residence, Rahimoana. If we thought the Eagle Spirit Villa was wonderful, this building simply blew us away. Attention to detail is second to none and the views just do not get better, anywhere. Perhaps we will stay in Rahimoana next time. And there definitely will be a next time. But really, words do not do this location justice. We can not wait to return if the opportunity arises. Thank you Callum and your staff for a fantastic weekend.

Wow what can I say, the views are breathtaking, the service attentive and the layout of the house had carefully been thought through to capture stunning views from all three bedrooms. I recommend getting a chef in for the night, Tama was brilliant, it was such a wonderful relaxing experience having someone come in and serve a beautiful meal while we enjoyed the surroundings and eachother. The house was fully decked out with every imagineable neccesity and we didn't want for anything while we were there. Absolute luxury and comfort, I welcome the opportunity to return. Thank you Callum for your hospitality.

Memories last a lifetime. From the planning and emails prior to our visit to the goodbyes, every element of our Eagle's Nest experience was perfect!

As a discerning traveler I must say, there was simply NO problem or issue associated with our stay. The manager and front office staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They were always around to assist and guide us to the most wonderful experience.

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and provided a tour of the area and the amazing, Sacred Space home. The home was huge, contained every luxury, high-quality finish and amenity one would ever need and more. The views, the pool, jacuzzi and even the laundry facility were outstanding.

One day we were whisked away in a helicopter which took us all over the north island. Prickles was our pilot and guide, wonderful and undearing!! We landed throughout the day at all of the gorgeous and meaningful spots, including the Cape Reinga & the 90 mile beach & dunes for some fun. The day is one our family will never forget.

My kids were thrilled with the space and respectful of its specialness - original NZ art and antiques that adorned the entire house. I wouldnt hesitate to return over and over again with my entire family.

What an incredible memory! Hope to return again soon.

Eagles Nest is located on the tip of a pennsula over looking the beautiful Bay of Islands and a short distance from the charming town of Russell. This is not a hotel but rather an estate with five different villas from one bedroom to five bedrooms. Each villa is self contained, very private and spectacular. My wife and I stayed in the one bedroom, and did our food shopping in the nearby town of Piahia. On nights we wanted to go out the staff made bookings for us in the local resturants in Russell. There are lots of fun day trips an hour or two driving time from Russell, or book a fishing boat, or sailing on the bay. Our villa was wonderful and well stocked. We bar b qued on the outdoor bar b que, got lazy in the hot tub, had a fire in the fireplace and really enjoyed our stay. We have booked a three bedroom this year and will be sharing the villa with friends. The staff was friendly and very accomidating. Warm Kiwi hospitality in a spectacular setting.

Room Tip: You can't make a mistake. All villas are spectacular.

My partner and I stayed at EN for 3 nights end of May 2011. They do not have a restaurant. No problem, breakfast that you cook yourself is provided. There are many great food places a short walk or drive away. Notably the Duke of Marlborough at Russell. Great Mussels. Back to EN, we were in First Light, a luxurious 1 bedroom house. The views are incredible, most of the house is glass and you have a 270 degree panorama of the entire Bay of Islands from just about anywhere in the house, including the upstairs glass shower. The staff are very friendly and happy to help with things to do, or other suggestions. We had the private chef for one night and he was terrific, great food and wine, mostly local ingredients, he had excellent knowledge about the produce. The house was completely self contained and the fixtures fittings were of an excellent quality including a gaggenau cook top. We will definitely go back. Wonderful.
