We stayed 3 nights at Ambleside B & B in August and there was nothing we didn't like. We spent a lot of time deciding where to stay in Nelson, but this place stood out from the rest and we decided to give it a go. We soon understood why the reviews are so good. Robyn and Kees made us feel very welcome, in ways big and small, from the moment we arrived to the moment we had to leave. The Burgundy room we stayed in (they even upgraded us to a better room since the B&B was not fully booked) was very comfortable and nicely decorated, the attention to detail is amazing. The breakfast was indeed excellent and the Wi-Fi connection worked perfectly. We got useful advice on what to do in Nelson and for instance booking our trip to Abel Tasman National Park was very easy with the help we got from Robyn and Kees. But these are just examples. The hospitality and friendliness of the hosts is something exceptional. During our 3 weeks holiday in NZ, this was the best place we stayed in, hands down.

You won't find nicer hosts than Robyn and Kees, so if you stay in this area for Nelson or Abel Tasman, then I doubt you'll find better. The accommodation was lovely, and very well arranged, so that you have enough privacy, with separate access to your room, but you still feel that you are sharing their home, so a really nice balance. The food was wonderful, and Kees produces a lot of his own fruit, etc. Breakfast were great, and Robyn and Kees were more than happy to offer advice on tours etc. We also took advantage of Robyn's offer to launder some of our clothes for a very nominal charge, all nicely pressed and on our bed when we got back from a day out...first class !
Robyn and Kees are lovely caring people, and you run a lovely B&B, thanks for making it a lovely relaxing two nights with you.

Robyn and Kees are great hosts and did everything they could to make my 2 night stay as enjoyable as possible. Kees picked me up from the airport in the evening after my flights had been delayed and then cooked me supper as I'd not been able to get anything to eat for dinner. After a great cooked breakfast in the morning he then dropped me off for a tour with an early start so that I didn't have to rush. The B&B is very comfortable and lovingly looked after and it was a great place to start my holiday.
