I recently stopped at the Boat Shed Cafe whilst taking clients out to Abel Tasman National Park. Fully aware that there would not be much on the culinary side at our destination in Kaiteriteri I made a last minute decision to stop for some classic Kiwi Kaimoana (seafood). Before lunch we had stopped at a local brewery so we were all in the mood for some mussels, groper and whitebait fritters. The seafood did not disappoint as we chowed down and consumed everything on our plates. Make sure you get a table out on the balcony so you can enjoy your food whilst looking out into Tasman Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

Monday night in winter - a perfect time to revisit a restaurant we've always liked, but hadn't been to in a while. We were greeted with a smile, and taken directly to a table. We ordered our drinks to start (Neudorf wines always great) and decided to split an entree. We had the prosciutto, eggplant and buffalo mozzarella salad - GREAT! We decided we're going to "borrow" :) that recipe for our house. Yum! Then ordered our mains- never feeling rushed or neglected either. Good service.
I ordered the salmon w/ fennel and my husband ordered the rib eye, medium rare with beetroot. Both were done perfectly, and two glasses of Te Mata Awatea topped it off.
By the time we finished, the restaurant was quite busy. Overall, a very nice night out. It won't be so long again before we return. Cheers!

Found this place by mistake, glad we did though.
A little on the expensive side for us but really worth it. Excellent food, especially the seafood chowder, wife loved it. Great sitting in the sun on the balcony even in winter.
Fantastic coffee and service too.

We called in for brunch at this lovely spot just today. The service was friendly ad approachable, nothing was too much trouble, even when I asked for the recipe for the yummy mushrooms on bruschetta which I'd eaten!D.H had a huge plate of bacon, scrambled egg, mushrooms and fresh bread- it takes a good- sized meal for him to be happy , and he was!Good hot coffee too.Of course, the view is sublime- sea water all around , snow- tipped mountains in the distance and a brilliant winter's blue sky.Highly recommend it.

Wow we opted for the “Trust the chef” option on the menu and it was fantastic. The food was of a high standard, tasted superb and there was nothing to fault. It was worth every penny.
