A great little walk close to the centre of Nelson. Of course it is up hill but the trail is as easy as up hill trails get.
Great views over the coast line and the town. The walk up is steep at points so trainers are a LOT better flip flops! Take a water bottle
a 20 minute walk to the top, good pathway, with some rest areas and seats on the way up, and a good viewing spot half way up. a fantastic view from the top, stunning on a good day.
This walk gives you a view of the bay from the top. Nothing spectacular. I suggest you walk up from the Botanical Garden side of the hill. You share the other side with mountain bikers and is quite a rough walking surface
As it was a lovely sunny day we decided to walk to the centre of New Zealand. The walk is quite steep at times but not too far so didn’t take long. It was very busy when we got to the top with tourists taking selfies! You get good views over all of Nelson once you get to the top.
