A little out of town between Airport and City but to see this part of the world you need to move a bit.NZ'ers take pride and pleasure in their "vintage cars" and I think I'm correct in saying we have the highest mean age of the cars on the road, somewhere in the 1990's . And you don't just see cars beautiful though they are,as the Wearable Art is fun too. Good place to stop on your way South and West with good coffee and food like most places in NZ and Speights across the road.

Probably unique. A wonderful mix of the innovative design from the WOWA competition and an amazing car museum. Pay the extra to go to the cars in the room at the back. Although I have "only" been driving for 40 years there are examples of the cars in which I started as a learner as well as some that I remember my father driving when I was a nipper. And then some going back to the beginning of the last century. As for WOWA it is amazing to see what can be done with what would otherwise be seen as everyday items. Something for everyone.

ok so nelson was the beginning of the wearables..thats ok,but you would be better off to invest and go to the new wearables in wellinton when they show next year..nelson does tend to cling to the past, but this show really is about future inspiration..okay on a wet day when theres nowt else to do...

We thought my husband would just want to see the cars but decided to come briefly into the Wearable art display. Did I say briefly? we loved it so much we stayed for ages and were amazed at the creativit€y of the artists. The cars also were so well presented it is definately €something to see in Neslon

This place is great. even the guys will be impressed by the costumes in the wearable arts centre and the ladies might be impressed with the car collection. There are always a few on display outside. They have a great Café and across the road less than 100 m away is the Speights Ale House. Where a man can sit and wait for his better half to stop looking at the clothes, best thing is they can't buy any.
