Had to stay in Nelson for 3 days 2 nights. Maria and Rick were the consummate hosts. Nothing was ever a problem. Located about 5 minutes walk from the town centre was extremely convenient. Could not believe the breakfast. Feasted like a king with a great choice of fruit berries breads cereals and a cooked breakfast as well. The room was divine, the sheets were excellent quality, the bed was very comfortable, very quiet and there was a heat pump in the room, not that it was needed. Very clean and great to stay in a house with history. I would and will recommend Collingwood Manor to anyone visiting Nelson. In fact I have to go back in a couple of weeks and already know where I will be staying! Well done Rick and Maria. I wish you all the best.

The excellent reports of Collingwood Manor from previous Trip Advisor reviews influenced my decision to select Collingwood Manor for my one night stay in Nelson. Rick and Maria were very helpfull without being over bearing, the property has been faithfully restored, the bed was superbly comfortable ~ is there a nicer feeling after a tiring day of traveling than to slip in between stiff freshly ironed sheets ?. I still remember my warm welcome on arrival, the cup of freshly brewed coffee and the muffins that had only been out of the oven a few minutes, in short if this B&B won't do you none of the others ever would.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Our room was spotless, the breakfast was the best we had in 6 weeks in NZ and Rick and Maria really went out of there way to help in any way they could. One little example: when they found we were planning a days walk, they supplied us with insect repellent and bite relief ointment for the day. Highly reccommended.

Rick and Maria have done an exceptionally good job of restoring thie beautiful old house and turning it into a fabulous B&B. The rooms are beautiful, and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was excellent with a range of foods to suit everyone. It's a short stroll into town and to the river, so a good opportunity to leave the car for a while. Only sorry we couldn't stay longer, a really great experience - thanks Rick & Maria.

Rick and Maria have only recently opened this B and B, and what a lovely job they are doing! They have spared no expense in making it first rate, bend over backwards to be helpful, and are perfectly located. Breakfast was sumptuous, and Rick even brought us a muffin when we first arrived, just one of the ways we were made to feel welcome. We loved Nelson.....and highly recommend this charming B and B.

We stayed 2 nights in the middle of February, with a hiking group. The hosts were very helpful and were able to provide a great breakfast for 11 people without breaking a sweat. Very clean and well decorated. It's a short walk into town and not far from the river

We stayed here on 29th Dec 2011 for just one night, but would have been happy to have been staying longer
It is a delightful B&B, both visually & in terms of the service. It's literally a minutes walk from the river & approx 5 mins stroll from town.
Our room was the Doris Room & had all amenities we needed; en-suite, TV, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities.
Breakfast was a yummy array of fruit, yogurts, cereals, breads & full cooked - be healthy or pig-out!!
Our hosts were fantastic, (a nightcap glass of port in the lounge & even insisted on driving us to the airport - approx 15/20 mins drive) - a really lovely, friendly couple.

(For reference we are a married couple aged 40 & 41)
