We stayed for 2 nights in what turned out to be a spacious, comfortable, and modern unit with all fittings and equipment of a very high quality. Our hosts Debbie and Ross were very helpful and friendly and when asked were able to recommend restaurants which they had been to. Both restaurants were brilliant. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night with no noise at all either from revellers or traffic. The walk into town was only a few minutes and the riverside walk was very close by as well. This motel had everything that we look for in a motel, and the free Wifi was another bonus.

room fresh and clean, nice kitchenette and good to have it separate from living area. Hosts friendly, an easy walk to shops. Cute grocery shop/dairy with fresh fruit and veg right next door. Compared to other motels I have stayed at in Nelson, it is an economical option. The only improvement I would like to see is stays on the windows so they can be left open on hot summer nights, as without air conditioning it can get a bit hot. Also nice to get a couch rather than separate chairs.

Recently stayed at Kings gate motel for three nights for my first visit to Nelson. The motels are very clean, modern and really well priced for four star accommodation. Debbie and Ross were so helpful during our stay and gave us lots of advice, thanks for the great cafe hints! Would recommend Kings gate for anyone looking to stay in central Nelson and wanting to a great carefree experience.
