Well worth a stop along the road between Oamaru and Dunedin. A beautiful stretch of beach with the very interesting rock formations. There is a cafe on the headland, which we didn't use, which seemed to claim this attraction as its own. We parked a bit further down the road but it was easy access to the beach and a very pleasant walk to and from the rocks.

Nice round rocks, good photo opportunity. Lots of little bits of information about the rocks along the pathway. Quite commercial with the gift shop and cafe, reeks of tourist. There was even advertising in the cafe toilets! But you dont have to go to either the cafe or gift shop, the rocks are nice on their own.

This is a weird sight to see, with perfectly round boulders scattered on the sand, like giants had been playing marbles. There is a restaurant and gift shop to break up the monotony of a long drive from Christchurch. Worth stopping by to stretch the legs and the beach can sometimes even be worth a swim.

Loved the Boulders, we got awesome photos jumping off them. Stunning beach & we were lucky enough to have the beach to ourselves, we were there about 11:30am. The cafe had awesome food & parking was super close so you didn't have to walk far.

These boulders are such a different natural attraction and almost seemingly from outer space! Hard to believe they are natural phenomenon!
