The staff were very welcoming and friendly and suggested a few things to do in Oamaru when we checked in and also a few things to do on our way to Dunedin when we checked out. We were in a studio spa room; it was a good size and nicely decorated. The room had a queen bed and a single bed along with a well equipped kitchen with two hobs and plenty of cooking equipment. The spa bath was wonderful.

Stayed for one night as we were in town to see the penguins and this place was fantastic. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, our hosts were so lovely and nice and gave fantastic advice for viewing yellow eyed penguins and the room itself was so clean and modern.

We told the hosts we were heading out to the penguin viewing and when we returned to our room late that night our heater had been turned on (which was hugely appreciated) and cereals, bread for toasts with condiments and milk had been placed in our kitchen.

Fantastic stay and I would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed a night here to check out the penguins. While the entrance fees to see the penguins were a bit of a rip-off, the motel wasn't at just NZ$144! We even got a fee upgrade and free 50mb (per person) wireless internet. Considering that internet is not free in NZ, I'd say that was good enough for a short skype session with our 1-year old son back home.

Room is modern, clean, fully furnished, kitchenette, in-built spa and the likes. Motel is right smack in the shopping district so it's fairly convenient to walk around. Also thanks to Debbie for the warm welcome and advice. Highly recommended!

Great location on the main highway only a couple of minutes from the main shopping district but no intrusive road noise. Our single level ground floor unit (19) had everything we hoped for - except perhaps for another dining chair. Everything was at least adequate as a minimum and even better in many aspects. Host Debbie was very helpful and informative. Can't hope for anything more...would not look to stay anywhere else if we return to Oamaru.

We stayed one night, and enjoyed it. Everything was very clean, the room was very spacious, and modern and the owners were kind and helpful.
The sound insulation is not great though, we were in a down stairs room and could hear everything going on next door through the closed connecting door and heard quite loudly whenever water was used above. This was loud enough that it would wake you, we had an early start to our day anyways so it didn't bother us but I thought 'that would suck if you're wanting to sleep in'. So for a luxurious, longer stay I wouldn't pick this place but for a short, get in late, get out early to move on...it's great.
