5 stars for Bella Vista. Secure parking which is free of charge for the first 12 days. Excellent shuttle service to airport and very friendly & helpful staff. Wouldnt stay anywhere else when travelling out of Auckland airport.

We stayed here mid July arriving around 1 am,after checking in we faced the challenge of finding a car park,out the front of the building,back and forth up and down the rows ,you couldn't drive around as the car park was in rows,so if you got to the end of the row, you had to reverse up to get to the main area to go into the next row !! After 10 minutes we drove around the rear of the building not knowing whether we were allowed to park there or not,as I was told that I could park anywhere out the front.But at this stage we didn't give a rats.......After getting our luggage out,in the rain, we tried to access the external door but the key would not work,so I walked down to the next door,again it didn't work,so I had to walk right around the building to reception.Upon telling the staff member that my key didn't work, he checked it on his machine and said that it was working fine.I asked why it wouldn't open the external doors,he said it is not supposed to,to get to your room you have to come through reception,GEE, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW BEFORE WE PARKED THE CAR.The chest of draws in the room was broken,the bottom board was hanging off !!The bedding looked old,the carpet needed to be replaced,overall I would not waste my time going there again.............

Even before this hotel changed name and ownership (Rugby World Cup) we found it value for money, although now under Bella Vista, they have stopped the "stay 10 nights, next one free" but still good value.
The foyer area serves meals, but if you want the Pub atmosphere a short walk takes you there.
breakfast room is good but if you just want a coffee and muffin not worth the extra money,

We are pleased to hear that you find our product and services continue to offer good value for money. Our rate plans changed in April to meet the demands of the market some require breakfast, some require long term parking and some just require a bed for the night, no matter what your requirements are our rates are very competitive. Our 'express product' means that we provide hotel standard accommodation without the trimmings (ie: No porters, concierge or valet parking, basic decor and in room facilities) thus allowing us to keep our prices affordable. We like the idea of the previous deal, so watch this space.

For a close-to-airport stopover, this is the hotel we like to go to. Their shuttle service is prompt and efficient, the rooms are comfy, clean andquiet and nicely decorated. The rates are good. The staff are efficient. We had a very nice burger and chips in their Lounge Bar for around $13.00. There were about 10 different items on the menu.. Overall, its a pleasant experience at the beginning or end of a trip.

Friendly, helpful staff. Accommodation was very roomy and very clean!!! Great showers and comfortable bed. I did not eat from the Bar Menu but my husband and I saw meals coming out from the kitchen, they looked appetising and good sized portions. Breakfast was continental and sufficient. We booked through "Wotif" and price included Breakfast. Overall great value for money, plenty of space in the rooms, fantastic shower.

Will DEFINITELY stay again!!!

Having stayed at this hotel in May 2011 we were happy enough to return this year for one night prior to flying out early morning. Our travel agent did suggest another hotel nearby but we stuck with what we thought we knew. How things have changed in that year. Our greeting from reception was lukewarm at best, the 'free carparking' cost us $5.00 per night, the breakfast which used to be available from 3.30am is now on offer from 5am (no use to us), and not one but three small holes in our sheets gave a very tired and careless feel to this place. Ho hum enough for us to strike this hotel from our list of places to stay before flying out. Evidently there has been a change of ownership effective in May even though the name changed last year but surely the new owners can do better than this?

In their defense they did refund our carparking money when we returned and let our travel agent know how unimpressed we were.

Come on Bella Vista - pick up your act. Your frontline reception people need training - they are the face of your hotel before we even get to our rooms. Unacceptable in more ways than one.

We are disappointed to learn that you felt your stay did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We are generally very good when it comes to customer service so it is very surprising that you felt it was not up to it's usual high standards. Breakfast times have changed because the demand for breakfast at 3am is no longer there and therefore it is not feasible to staff this service as it is was not being used. Thank you for acknowledging that our mistake was rectified and of course please accept our apologies for the inconveniences this caused. I can assure you that your feedback will be put to good use.

This place is called Bella Vista in the way that North Korea is called the Democratic Republic of. It is set in an industrial park just outside the airport, but too far to walk to. It adequately services passengers who have early flights and there is no other reason to stay here. There is a free shuttle bus both ways which you can ‘phone for. It arrived within the half hour.

Our room was adequately clean and spacious with two double beds. It is a large multi-storey hotel but has a peculiarly motel feel about it. There is a bar with lounge chairs in the lobby and light meals can be purchased there in the evenings. We ordered food there and had it sent to our room where there was a small table and chairs. We also ordered a bottle of wine which never arrived, so we cancelled it. If it is not raining I believe there are dining options to walk to.

A complimentary continental breakfast is available in a breakfast room from 5am. As we had an earlier flight, we arranged for a tray to be delivered to our room the night before. We received juice, cereal, yoghurt and stale mini-muffins which was adequate if not enjoyable.

For A$78 it was all, well … adequate. And half the cost of the Novotel which is right beside the airport terminal.

We are a Qualmark rated 3.5 star hotel this means that we offer good - very good services and facilities. We are an express hotel which offers less services and facilities in order to keep the costs affordable. Therefore you will not find a porter to help you with your luggage or park your car, breakfast is self service and our rooms are very basic, but very clean. The best thing about us is that we do not pretend to be a 'Novotel' nor would we ever compare ourselves to them.
