“2 Star Hotel in convenient location”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

The Go Hotel is a 2 Star Hotel in a convenient location beside Tårnby train station in Copenhagen- a 10 minute journey from the centre of the city, with trains every 10 minutes or so. Tip - if you arrive by train exit the station by the stairs on Section A of the platform, as you will then be on the right side of the road for the hotel, as the road is otherwise tricky to cross.
The service in the hotel is excellent. The communal area used as the bar and breakfast area is pleasant. The rooms are small and basic, there is little storage space, but there is a TV and a shower-room/ toilet. Think "cabin on a ferry" and you will have a good idea of what to expect. The beds are comfortable, but the rooms near reception are noisy. Excellent value for money in my opinion. There is a 7-11 shop and Netto near the station to stock up on supplies, the hotel didn't seem to mind you eating picnics in the communal area including alcohol, which can save your Kroner. Given that a pint of Carlsberg in central Copenhagen is 68Kr and a can at the 7-11 is 17Kr, this can make a big difference to those on a budget.

Room Tip: Avoid those near reception (101-110). A higher floor room is best.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us and yes, Copenhagen is expensive, and you easely overspend. Just want to stress, that we do not allow brought in food or drinks within the public arreas, but our prices in the bar is just as cheap as 7eleven:)

Copenhagen is a breathtakingly expensive city. Therefore, only when you get there and start paying for things like meals, trains, etc, will you appreciate the value this hotel represents. We were allowed to stow our luggage after our 9:30 am arrival, so that we could go out and tour till check in at 3 pm. Our room was clean, light, and the beds comfortable. There are some wall hooks, but you will be picking your way around your luggage on the floor. Once you get used to the idea, the "shower room" bath is OK, and was a perfect example to our kids that not everyone in the world does everything the same way. Copenhagen rarely needs air conditioning, but it could have used it on the unusually hot afternoon we checked in. Luckily, we slipped into post trans-Atlantic flight nap comas and barely noticed the heat. The next morning we checked out, and then hung out in the lobby for an hour and a half playing cards, waiting to board our ship. We were also able to check email at the complimentary computer in the lobby. Nice! We used the subway during our stay and there was a grocery store nearby, but be prepared to have the local coin, since many locations will not accept a credit card without a pin number. A minimalist hotel, but just great for our needs. I would stay there again.

The room was really small and no A/C. It would've been good to have a small fridge in the room.

It is really cheap for Copenhagen and there is a train station (Tarnby) at 2 minutes walk as well as a bus stop that you can catch to get to Christiania and other places more in the center.

There is also a small grocery store at the train station (Tarnby) and a 7-eleven, ATM machine.

It is very close to the airport (1 train stop = 3 minutes), close to the center (3 train stop =10 minutes) and if want to go to Sweden visit the city of Malmo it is also 3-4 train stop = 30 minutes) from the train station (Tarnby).

There is about 2-3 small restaurants nearby that you can walk to (one next door, another pizza/indian at 3 minutes walk) and then a couple near the train station Tarnby.) There is not a lot of choice. It is better to go downtown by taking the train.

Thanks for sharing your experience withn this forum, and we can also reccommend dinner in the Dragør area, although it takes half an hour with public transportation - this old fisherman village is worth going for!

This is budget accommodation at reasonable rates. Don't expect an elegant lobby, staff at every corner, telephone or minibar in the room. Instead, be happy you are paying 25% of rates in downtown hotels. Rooms are small, no cupboard or drawers. if you plan to spend a lot of time in your room, this is not the right place for you. But a place to drop your bag as you are sightseeing most of the day, it's perfect.

We enjoyed the breakfast with Danish yogurt, excellent bread with cheese and salami, coffee and tea. Super way to get you energised before you cross the road to the Metro that takes you to the city in 5-10 minutes. Arriving by car, lots of parking space (free). We are back next week.

Copenhagen Go is conveniently located close to Kastrup Airport serving Coenhagen. It is one train stop from Kastrup. Eurali pass users should activate their passes at Kastrup or Copenhagen Central because the small station across the road from the Go Hotel does not have ticket agent service - the clerk at the 7/11 doubles as the Tanrby ticket master! It may have had something to do with the small netbook we were using, but the WiFi service was somewhat unreliable at the Go Hotel - our only complaint.
We stayed at this hotel again on our way home and the room and bathroom was much smaller for the same price as the first time. Location was everything to us though.

We were expecting basic and clean accommodations for one night, before our flight early in the morning. It might be we were just unlucky, but we got stuck in a smelly room (feet mixed with a damp smell) with a noisy ventilation system in the bathroom.
The sheets were clean and so was the bathroom (typical danish old bathroom).
A good option if you have to stay near the airport (one train stop) and can't afford the Hilton.

Good address in Copenhagen if you just need to sleep one night (for a good price) before taking a plane at the international airport. There is a train station not far away and you can also reach it with a taxi from the airport for about 15 €. The hotel is very clean and functional and has a trendy decoration. Yes, the rooms are very small but clean, modern and equiped with a little bathroom. The reception and the bar are open 24/24. Breakfast is correct. There is an open place very trendy where you can relax, have a drink, go on internet (wifi is free). The staff is nice. So, a good alternative when you see the expensive prices of all hotels in Copenhagen !
