A very good hotel, good food, great services. We first were here in 2012 and we were really pleased, especially that Borsa didn't make a good impression (really bad roads, awful traffic)....but beautiful mountains and nice people.
The hotel is very clean, good prices (each time we had a special price from the hotel manager) and they are cooking really good.
The rooms are huge and the personnel is very warm and responsible.
We had a great time here and we would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located along road 18 on the outskirts of the village Borsa, Maramures
The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful huge pine forest, and a river is running right in front of the hotel. (The place is also only about 10 min walking distance from village tourist and winter sport cente).
The room was very big, spacious, clean, well designed, well equipped, modern and stylish and very very comfortable.
The hotel has free privet parking and free wifi.
The breakfast was tasty and being served in a nice dining room,.
The host and hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
This hotel is the perfect place for nature and wilderness lovers. You can sit on the balcony, watching the forest (or the stars at night) listening to the river and forest sounds…..and imaging being in paradise.
Hope to visit there again,,,,,,and soon

Room Tip: Take room no 208 at the first floor. It has a private terrace that leads directly into the forest.

This family owned hotel is in the most beautiful location in Borsa, Maramures, right at the foot of the Pietrosul mountains. There is a narrow river running right in front of the hotel and the views of the hills and mountains are spectacular. My room, which had its own courtyard had steps up the hill with a stream running along side that ran into the river.

From outside the style is that of a Swiss chalet and the interior of the hotel is spectacular. There are 2 restaurants and beautiful outdoor terraces. Every room is different, some of them with arched ceilings dividing bedrooms and sitting room. The rooms are very large and comfortable with all amenities but no mini bar. The food and service are top notch and a recent addition is a large restaurant on the ground floor for groups, meetings, conferences, etc.

The owners are charming and they make you feel like you're part of the family. For nature lovers and people who love the countryside it's a bit of paradise. Goat herds, horse drawn carriages with hay, remote monasteries, fields of wild flowers and the national costumes people wear on Sundays to church add to the charm of this location.

Room Tip: Back rooms face the mountains, front rooms face the street and river.

We were referred by another hotelier a few hours away and were very grateful for the good connections. We arrived by public bus (luckily spotted the sign before going further into town and were able to stop in time. A tip for future travellers from the East.) We were very well accomodated by welcoming family members and were helped to find a private car at a reasonable rate to travel the Maramures and later a lift to Cluj. Beautiful location and comfy rooms. Short walk in the mountains made a nice respite on a long and arduous trip. Feel like we discovered a gem in this rough terrain.

Room Tip: Room on east side has balcony and the lovely sound of the creek flowing throughout the night.

We stopped here randomly and were not disappointed. This seems to be a fairly new hotel with very welcoming staff and a huge friendly Great Dane.

Very good value, beautiful view of the forest and the traditional small farm opposite. A good place to break the journey from Sighet to Iaşi.

Except for the winter season when winter sports enthusiasts might like to be accommodated in the nearby (3 minutes by car, but desolating if there is no snow) winter "complex" from where the ski lift starts, this hotel has the best location from all the pensions and hotels in the Borsa village. Why? First of all it's a bit remote (you will see no other neighboring pensions), but has great access (it's on the main road). It's situated at the edge of a pine tree forest and a river runs right in front of it ! On the other side of the road the forest starts again. Perfect location for relaxing near the wilderness. The intermittent traffic noise should not be a problem as the hotel is placed at a distance from the road, traffic is low and furthermore the relaxing sound of the river dominates the atmosphere.

The rooms are big, clean and well equipped (above the standard of 3 stars in Romania). You have LCD TV (bigger in the superior rooms), modern bathroom fittings and some rooms have balconies.

Food is good (but the a la carte menu was not so varied), service is nice (this part of Romania is famous for its warm people) and the prices are low. There is free parking and the hotel (which is actually a large cabin) manages to inspire a quality and rustic feeling.

If you want a special experience, take the superior room at the first floor that has a private terrace that leads into the woods. This room is extremely big, but its main advantage is the fact that it's situated "right" into the tall-treed pine forest (you are separated from the forest only by a glass door). Sit onto the terrace at NIGHT and watch the stars - much brighter than in the city, listen to the sounds of the forest and climb a few steps that apparently lead right into the deep of the woods... if you dare. Our stay there was as nice as it was frighting :)

Stay there if you are in Borsa, Maramures!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back of the cabin that lead right into the pine forest ! If you are courageous ask for...

The town Borsa is not yet fully developed touristically wise, yet it is charming in it's way, most hotels not exactly suitting western, "spoiled" tourists. Hotel Victoria, though, is a refreshing gem in town, offering most amenities you need while touring the magnificent Maramures area.
The rooms are spacious and sparkling clean, the staff attentive and helpful, the food is good and the rates are great.
Note that hotels in Borsa do not have elevators, not excluding Viictoria, but on the other hand, it only has two upper floors. Not all rooms have phones installed, so make sure to specifically ask for a room with a phoneline, if you might need one. Free WiFi, including in the rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for lower floor if having difficulty climbing stairs. Ask for a room with a phoneline if you mi...
