Great place to stay, very good facilities - the room we stay in was the was the Baytree Suite. Leather couch, good kitchen facilities, the single bed in very cute separate bedroom and an old fashioned bath with all mod cons. The renovations to bring the room to its former glory were very well carried out, while the remote control for the main light was a great touch. The complementary Port was very unusual, but on a cold winters night, very welcome.

We stayed in Rosalie's Retreat at Annesley House for three nights and could not have been happier with the standard of the room. The house itself has been very well renovated and the family owners were discrete, yet always on-call and very friendly. I would highly recommend Annesley House as a great value for money option in Portland.

We arrived late evening and were efficiently shown the gorgeous room, and allowed to settle in with a spa, port and platter.
The young man who saw us in was kind enough to recommend a GF eatery close by and after dinner we came back to relax in the comfy 4 post bed. We had a great stay. I recommend.

This is a marvellous property and full of charm. The room was excellent with many period features that added to our stay. The town is also fun with many small but charming features. Excellent dinner in a local hotel and even better breakfast at the local art cafe.

Room Tip: All the rooms had individual characteristics

We loved our stay in Portland, made extra special by our two day stop over at Annesley House. We stayed in the Wademore Room. Huge was an understatement was not expecting it to be so large with an historic property. The whole house is stunning. Rooms have been tastefully decorated and Mark & Sid were fantastic hosts welcoming us on arrival. Room was spotless and well setup with everything you need to make your own continental breakfast. We bought our own ingredients but believe they can be supplied for a small fee. Location is fantastic close to the shops but still quiet enough to get a bit of R&R and parking at the rear. Large spa bath was a treat after the long walk we took at Cape Bridgewater to visit the seal colony & the petrified Forrest (both highly recommend). There is a large collection of DVDs which you can borrow and watch in the room and free Wifi. We loved everything about our stay and we didn't want to leave. The only thing I can recommend for travels is you may want to bring bottle water to the room as Portland water has a bit of a funny taste.

We stayed in Dr. Brewer's rooms for 2 nights - there was myself and my daughter (10) and my friend and her daughter (8). We loved it, and wouldn't pick anywhere else if we were returning to Portland. The part of the house Dr. Brewer's rooms are gave us the feeling we had the whole property to ourselves. Except for Sid, who is the adorable resident dog. Extra entertainment for kids.. fantasic! He is really little and cute, no one could be scared of him so please don't be put off by this.

There apartment was lovely, had a great vibe and atmosphere to it. It was great to stay somewhere with such a history, but also have all the modern amenities. There was games, books, DVD's, etc. all available free of charge so heaps to do indoors if it's wet (it wasn't when we stayed, fortunately). And of course, not to mention the free wifi too.

Mark the owner was very helpful, and left us lovely fresh strawberries, chocolate to melt and Port to drink. We didn't get to the Port unfortuately, but melting the chocolate with tea candles and dipping strawberries in it was a hit with all of us, especially the kids.

Would recommend to anyone visiting Portland - families, couples, friends, solo and business travellers - you can't really go wrong.

An absolute pleasure to stay at Annesley House. Six of us stayed in Dr Brewer's Rooms for two nights which were warm, cosy and quiet. High ceilings, wooden floors and very tasteful styling with interesting antiques scattered throughout that told a story about the doctor's consulting suites. Plenty of room for 6 people, which was pleasantly surprising. All modern appliances for the tech savvy (wifi, widescreen TV), and plenty of heating for the cold Portland nights. Perfect location for the traveling fisherman with the public boat ramp only a few minutes walk away, which we made use of.
Mark made the stay effortless and very enjoyable for all and i would not hesitate to stay there again. You won't find better accommodation in Portland. Thanks Mark - Andrew L
