“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

This young botanic gardens is well worth a visit. It's award winning sustainable building and the informative gardens gave us a lot more understanding of what is required for a sustainable future for house and garden. There is also a lot of information about plants and their tradition use. We would visit here again to see the gardens and perhaps the shingle back lizard that vacuumed under the outside tables before going back to a healthy diet of flowers

We are pleased that you enjoyed our botanic garden and hope you are able to visit again as, with all gardens, it is always changing. Glad you got to meet one of the resident 'sleepy' lizards.

“Great native garden”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

A huge amount of work has gone into creating this fascinating garden of plants that grow in arid regions of South Australia, and the Flinders Ranges in particular. They have a wonderful collection of eremophilas (which means desert lovers, we learnt), also known as emu bushes. We were there in the 3rd week in October, and though many of the emu bushes and some other species were still in flower, we felt the garden would have been more beautiful in September. Many birds, well planned walks, a good cafe and plants for sale mean you can spend several hours there if you're interested in native plants and birds.

An interesting insight into arid gardens and the different trees and plants. Well laid out and you can see that as the work progresses it will become an excellent tourist and educational area.

The gardens are great. Entrance is free. Several informative walking tracks of different lengths, so you can decide how much you want to cover.
The café is amazing. Lots on the menu and food is all fresh and tasty. Makes a pleasant stop.

“Excellent”

This is my second visit and I was told the plants all look better in late October. A lot of renovation to the gardens and it will be beautiful when all the new plants develop fully.
