By far my favourite Backpackers hostel I've stayed in on Australia's East coast. This is probably because I travel on such a small budget I choose the cheapest places and therefore don't get the best experience - however, Woolshed is a gem of a hostel that definitely exceeded all my expectations!

Firstly, the customer service is amazing - which tends to et overlooked in many of the hostels. Brent at the reception. had our room keys, a map to our room, a map to Hervey Bay, and a hand written note with all the necessary instructions ready for us even though we checked in after office hours.

We stayed in a six bed dorm. The room was designed very well to give each person as much privacy they can have in a room with five other people. The toilets were clean and well stocked. Great cosy common room! Beautiful garden with hammocks. Bus station shuttle was a nice perk - be sure to book a seat though!

Overall had a great vibe, personal service, and well worth the money!

Great hostel!
There weren't many rooms but that was perfect for us as it was quiet at night!
The staff were fantastic! They picked us up and dropped us off at the the bus station and helped us organise our trip to Fraser Island at the best rate available! There was free Wi-Fi and a large selection of DVDs to take for the night for free!
The rooms were very clean, we had a private en-suite room which had a double bed, a single bed, a TV, a DVD player, a table with two chairs and the bathroom had a big shower in it.
It was about a 10 minute walk to the beach and the main high street, which would be the only bad point about the resort, but this suited us perfectly!
Would HIGHLY recommend this backpackers for any travellers visiting the area!

I stayed here for three weeks doing work for free accommodation, and could have easily stayed another three! Brent & Megan, the owners, are extremely friendly & helpful, and very kind to the staff. The rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas are cleaned every morning. The outdoor garden areas are very peaceful and a great place to relax and bird-watch!

I must mention that during my stay, the hostel across the road had break-ins on four separate occasions, but we did not hear of anything stolen from the Woolshed (they have security lights & cameras). I definitely felt secure.

I would gladly recommend this hostel to anyone traveling through Hervey Bay! (A little bonus - they have a super adorable puppy who is very friendly!!!)

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are cooler during the day

Stayed here on Saturday 3rd of march! Just turned up whilst on a road trip and luckily was given a room! There was only a 2 bed left however the owner managed to get us a pull down bed as we were a group of 2 adults and 1 child (aged 9).. He even reduced the cost for us :).......room was a fan room and was great for what we needed!! We parked at the back got no extra fee :) we booked a tour through the reception to Fraser island and was given wifi for free which was nice :) only a short walk to restaurants and a few bars/ bistros etc!! Rooms and facilities are clean as you wojld expect!! the owner was lovely and helpful :) would recommend to anyone!!!

We had a double private/ensuite, which was nice. Coffe/Tee for free, huge TV/ kitchen facilities. Owners nice, A/C is extra $5 charge, room was clean, not far to woolwoth. You get free WiFi if you book a tour at the Hostel. Our friend stayed in a 3 girl dorm, which was very small. The first night one room was robbed because the girls did not lock their door- so watch out!

Room Tip: We had room A, next to the reception but with private bathroom.
