The highlight if our great Kiwi road trip, we were so lucky with the weather and our trip took place as planned. Well organised, efficient and friendly staff, great commentary as we travelled out into the Bay, but the star of the show was Tiaki, who surfaced not once but twice - a beautiful and moving sight. Afterwards we saw local seabirds and seals on our return journey. A very worthwhile trip and a great team - thank you all

Thank Fern D

Kia Ora, thanks so much for sharing about your time with us. Doesn't Tiaki show a beautiful tail? We hope the rest of your travels around NZ were as successful as your time in Kaikoura.

We arrived at the time it stated on the confirmation, but then had to wait a further 30 mins before the briefing. This seems slightly cheeky as this is not mentioned on the confirmation and is part of the trip time. It was then a 10 min bus journey out the quay. It was all well organised. When getting on the boat we were greeted by Kayla, very friendly. We then left the bay and went 5 miles out, during the transit another member of staff talked us through what we might see, it was quite informative. We did see two whales and got some quite good pics. We then went to see some dolphins. Shame we spent so long looking for wales as the dolphins were very good, but where only there for a short amount of time. Overall the trip was good.

Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience with us. I can assure you that we don't mean to mislead people in anyway with times mentioned when the booking is made - all times quoted are the tour check in time and customers are encouraged not to come before that time - sorry if this was not pointed out to you when you booked with us. I will pass on your kind words to Kayla who will I am sure be very happy to hear she is doing a great job. Hope the rest of your holidays are going well. Thanks again.

It probably wasn't their fault but if you have ever suffered from seasickness and you see a warning that you should take precautions against seasicknessplus they say there is a 3 metre swell - just forget it! Had I just forfeited however much money we had spent on it (we bought our holiday tailor-made so don't know how much we paid) it was not worth the gut-wrenching plus the loss of the rest of the day which I spent in bed. One tiny consolation is that I spotted a whale out of the corner of my eye and my husband said he enjoyed it but I shall never do anything like it again.

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear your time with us did not meet your expectations. We do our best at all stages of booking to inform customers of possible sea sickness (which we have natural remedies available at our Retail counter for purchase before the tour) and sea conditions so that people can choose if they still wish to sail or not, I am sorry if on this occasion you were not well informed before you sailed. We hope the rest of your time in NZ was successful.

This was on our to do list in New Zealand and I'm so glad we did it. The sea was rather choppy from a strom the previous night when we did the trip but the several people on board who were sea-sick were well looked after. You not only get the chance to see whales in there natural habitat but also (possibly) dolphins, seals and a range of seabirds. don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed.

Have to drive from Christchurch to Kaikoura and will take half a day. Alternatively book a coach.

Can get 10% discount if pre book online.

Due to popularity is good to pre book anyway.

Cruise was informative and I learned more about the whales.

Nice cafe "Flukes" at the cruise centre area. Great makes with white wine and also asparagus quiche.

Weather can be stormy so be prepared.

Thanks for taking the time to share about your whale watch experience. You are correct in stating that we have an online special going at present however this is not always the case it pays to look from time to time to see what specials we have going on. I will also pass on your kind words to our cafe staff who I am sure will be happy to know they are doing a great job! Thanks again!
