Me and my father were on a trip to New Zealand from America. We took a rest in Kiakoura l and stopped by Dons to have a bite. We both got fried fish that was local from the coast, and it was spectacular! We went back the next day to get lunch before heading to Christchurch. I got muscles and chips, and my father got the seafood burger. Even after 2 months, he said that's one of the best burgers he's had in ages. Hands down one of the best places we chat we ate at our two weeks vacation to New Zealand. Also, if you are there, do yourself a favor a go whale watching on a recommend boat. The place we went gave you your money back if you didnt see a whale and thy had something like a 94% whale siting rate.

We went twice to Don's: the first time I took a fish & chips and my partner had the wrap. I particularly loved the hoki, and the fish & chips are less greasy than other fish & chips we tried. The wrap has a generous size and is quite healthy with fresh vegge inside (carrot, cucumber, salad...).
The second time we tried the Giant Burger which is very Enormous!!! The meat was good and the burger was very tasty.
The staff is also very friendly and it is warm inside (important in winter) :)

It's simple and good value. This place was recommended by a friend staying in kaikoura and we stopped by for dinner. Fish and chips was really really nice. They also do delicious and tasty burgers. Worth stopping by for a meal or takeaway. Very friendly people and service.

The fish is the best we have ever tasted.. chunky flakes, juicy, fresh tasting and in gorgeous crisp batter. Not to mention the freshly made chips.The Blue Cod and Hoki is my fave! Thumbs up for their awesome and friendly staff. Do visit if you are in Kaikoura, you won't be disappointed! We'll definitely be back soon.
