Great motel to stay at. Really helpful owners. Family unit booked which was clean tidy and very comfortable for us. Easy walk to the Pier Hotel for a meal. Easy drive or approx 20 minute walk into centre of town.

Room tip: Front units on the upper level have a view of the sea.

Great location and quiet!
We booked for two nights and found everything up to a very high standard. The owners were friendly and the room had a lovely view of the sea with the snow covered mountains in the distance. As the Pier hotel was within a two minute walk, with the Dolphin even closer, no danger of drink driving. To our surprise, the towels were changed while we were out. Would have preferred a bigger shower but overall very cosy stay.

Perfect spot with an awesome view!
It was a long drive to get to this place that my Wife had booked. Glad to get in after such a long journey, we found the place to be spotlessly clean and quiet.

After a great sleep on comfortable beds we got up early to take my Wife and a friend to the Whale Half Marathon. Early showers were good as the shower has excellent pressure.

We were in and out the next day and we found the room had been serviced while we were out.

Good wifi and kitchen facilities too.

Right next door to a very nice restaurant and just across the street (about 40 meters) from a Tavern with excellent meals at a very reasonable price.

So relaxing! A hidden gem!
What a quiet relaxing place to stay. Plenty of walks if you want them, great pub over the road with awesome meals and a well equipped , well placed motel. The managers are terrific in accomodating your needs. It is not the most modern motel, but the views, service and well appointed rooms outweigh this. It is a pleasant walk to the BBQ seafood van, over the road from the pier hotel and 2 doors from the green dolphin. Highly recommend this motel.

Motel. But clean and spacious
This is a motel and I am reviewing it as such. The rooms were spacious, spotless and the kitchen well equipped. The owners were friendly. The location is excellent. (Go to the Pier House and forget the Green Dolphin food wise).

Faultless
One of the cleanest and best presented motels we have stayed at. Mine hosts welcoming friendly and informative.Great elevated views of Kaikoura bay from our deck and an easy stroll to a pub, restaurants and attractions. We over did the food! So much to choose so little time. Gouged on crayfish, blue cod, gropher, chowders and mussels. A seafood heaven and the steaks and lamb, second to none. Kaikoura you must be on the map for foodies. Seals, dolphins, whales and bird life right at the front door.
We will be back.
