This is a motel and I am reviewing it as such. The rooms were spacious, spotless and the kitchen well equipped. The owners were friendly. The location is excellent. (Go to the Pier House and forget the Green Dolphin food wise).

Faultless
One of the cleanest and best presented motels we have stayed at. Mine hosts welcoming friendly and informative.Great elevated views of Kaikoura bay from our deck and an easy stroll to a pub, restaurants and attractions. We over did the food! So much to choose so little time. Gouged on crayfish, blue cod, gropher, chowders and mussels. A seafood heaven and the steaks and lamb, second to none. Kaikoura you must be on the map for foodies. Seals, dolphins, whales and bird life right at the front door.
We will be back.

We wanted to see the earthquake damage and give some practical financial support to Kaikoura
Motel was comfortable, clean with a very good view. Within reasonable walking distance of town. Difficult drive into Kaikoura over inland road but we were fortunate that the coastal road south opened overnight so we did not have to return over the same road again, Choice of restaurant meals limited because of earthquake damage causing closure of premises.

Great motel in a perfect location, lovely owners
Stayed for two nights and really enjoyed it. Room was comfortable and well equipped. The owners are so friendly, very happy to stop in the middle of their work and take the time to give you advice or just chat. They also made the dolphin experience booking for us. Location is very good. Right near the sea with views over the bay. 20 minutes walk one way to Kaikoura and the dolphin / whale experience centre, 20 minutes walk the other to the seal colony and lookout point. I really can't fault the Admiral Court at all and would very much recommend it if you;re visiting Kaikoura.

One night away
We decided as a family to take a short break away from ChCh and head to Kaikoura as we wanted to go there the day the earthquake struck...
The motel is just off the waters front behind a set of buildings but you can still see the some of the rocks and waters edge. Situated the other end of town but a 30 mins walking distance from the seal colony and bbq seafood shack and just around the corner from the Fyffe museum. It is also located next door to highly recommended Green Dolphin restaurant and across from the equally brilliant Pier hotel for food. Room was a standard studio unit. It was excellent! Shower was wheelchair friendly as was the house which is great for the disabled but also excellent shower all round. We had our 3 month old with us and no one neighboring us. Beds were a little on stuff side but comfy enough for a good sleep. Room stayed warm throughout the night. We didn't spend much time in the room only to sleep but was spot on for what we needed. Staff was very helpful In offering us either a travel cot or even a baby bath if we needed it. Highly recommend staying here!!

Best location if you're hungry for sea food!
We booked 3 nights at the Admiral Court based mostly on the reviews here. It didn't dissapoint. The rooms themselves are well laid out and well equipped (good modern equipment, kitchenware,TV, etc). The rooms were all spotlessly clean and no signs of ware and tear. Wifi internet is free and performs well.

Locations wise its excellent. Its next door to the dolphin restaurant, across the road from the Pier Hotel, and around the corner and within walking distance of the Kaikoura Seafood barbeque food truck. If you're goal is to eat and drink well in Kaikoura then this is the place to stay! Being at the far end of the esplanade it doesn't have a lot of through traffic going past either, so its a quiet locations too.

The hosts are very friendly and very helpful - so you do feel well looked after. Possibly the only thing to note (and this is stretching it to find fault) - the walls between the units are quite thin and it is easy to hear the neighbouring conversations - but if everyone is considerate its not a problem. Overall - good value for money accomodation wise, but a bargin in terms of locations next to fantastic seafood eating places!
