We were disappointed at first about being about 10 minutes from downtown Kaikoura but when we saw our beachfront site and met the staff and saw all the facilities offered we couldn't have been more content! The beach is beautiful to walk on , the showers are hot, laundry facilities great. They also offer fresh hot sourdough bread every morning at a small price! Great stay.

Room tip: Only one downside to this campground is the traffic of SH1 that can be loud at times through the night... just being honest.

I stayed 1 night here after a long day driving. The owners are really kind and it's was just 18 dollar for non-power site.
Slept next to the beach, what an stunning spot!

I will highly recommend to stay overnight here! Thanks for the overnight and will come back

Our first experience in a motor home and to a holiday park and Peketa set the bar high.
We parked in a site closest to the beach however arriving in the dark we had no idea what was there. The morning revealed the most beautiful and deserted beach. We were the only ones walking the beach for about 1/2 hour. Glorious. The facilities were absolutely clean and the showers strong and hot. The owners were very helpful and the small shop has a range of supplies to get you through. About 5kms away is Kaikoura town which has restaurants etc. Very happy, highly recommended.

We loved our stay here. Great location right on the beach. A relaxing spot - surfcasting, watching the dolphins and enjoying the view. Close to Kaikoura. Good clean facilities, strong hot showers. Friendly reception staff. Small store with essentials, some hot food available. $44 per night for beachfront powered sight. We'll definitely be back again.
