“Excellent well maintained walkway which is highly recommended.”
Reviewed August 25, 2014

Recommended by the staff at Whale Watch and well worth visiting.

About a 5 minute drive along the Kaikoura coastline brings you to a free walkway with fantastic views along headlands with the Southern Alps in the background.

Had a nice surprise pulling up as a fur seal cub was in the space next to us!

The walkway route rises steeply from the starting point but is well signposted as you head towards to bay, around an easy hours journey away.

Views all along and vantage points are all around for camera shots etc.

Highly recommended!!!

“bring comfortable shows”
Reviewed August 25, 2014

Beautiful walk and many locations to take pictures but wear comfortable shoes. Some people went out into water - be careful of tide rising.

“Highlight of my NZ Trip”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

This walk offers stunning views and a peak into NZ wildlife. On the one side you have a magnificent snowcapped Southern Alps that appear to descend right into the Pacific Ocean. Then you have these gentle foothills that look like they were pulled right out of Ireland with their lush green. And on the other hand you have the aforementioned Pacific Ocean. While on the walk you will see all manner of birds, a seal colony, and maybe even glance a whale! We had such a good time here. This is a MUST!

“Best way to see what Kaikoura has to offer”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

This walk has some of the most amazing views! We took this walk in the afternoon on a fairly windy winter day. The sun was out so it was actually quite warn. We walked for about 2 hours total, stopping to take pictures and take in the views. The views here are unparalleled!
