“A lovely walk at the tip of the peninsula.”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

I can only add my support to the previous reviews. The walk is free, scenic and well-maintained. There is ample parking and also some food vans just before you reach the car park. Don't miss it if you're in the vicinity.

“Great walk”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

4 older people repeating the walk after many years--one very fit, 2 middling fit and one still getting over a fall some weeks before so all levels of fitness can do this walk--just take different times to do it in. Did the circuit walk--along the top then down a steep track/stairs and back along the beach. Lots to see and explore--seals, boats fishing and whale watching, nesting areas for sea birds, geology and fossils for those who know what to look for.Beach part is tide dependent so need to have a bit of local input re this before starting out. Loads of parking and path is well maintained. This plus the seal nursery and other wals not done this trip, mean we will be back to explore more of the area. Care needed on the rocks at the end as some parts very slippy.

“Peninsula Walkway”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Beautiful circular walk, a beach to swim in on the way with fish and catering stalls on a sunday, and changing facilities. Lots of close encounters with seals. Attractive limestone cliffs and kharsts, unique for geologists. Marina end has walkway and viewing platform for wheel chairs. A fairly easy treck for the average walker. For circular walk best to go in the direction from the whalebone cottage to the marina, because this way is more downhill and down steps.
