“No seal pups but a great, short bush walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2014

We didn't see any seal pups, but the walk alone is well worth it. It is a tight bush walk with a jungle feel. The waterfall at the end is beautiful. Don't miss it!

“A great little walk. Seals are still though in small numbers now”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2014

This is a lovely walk, about 10 minutes in duration to the waterfall....longer if you see and stop to photograph the seals in the pools on the way. The waterfall is beautiful and the seals have left the main pool now to return to the sea though a few remain in the lower pools. The waterfall itself is beautiful, a long cascade of foaming water falling to the main pool over a rock face. A quick visit attraction, but great for a photograph of the falls (+/- seals if they're present).

“Nice walk”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2014

We were told about this waterfall and the seal pups. Sadly when e went there were no pups to see, wrong time of the year maybe. Still worth the walk to see the waterfall.

“Nice Little Waterfall”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2014

The 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the waterfall is nice, and the waterfall is nice as well. If you're lucky, there are baby seals bathing and playing in the waterfall (as I understand, this is usually between April and Sept), but seeing as we were there in January, there were no seal pups. Still, it was worth a visit, as it's just off of the Highway 1 north of Kaikoura, right after the Oahu Seal Colony. It's very easy to miss, so keep your eyes peeled for signs after you pass the colony.

“No seals in march”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2014 via mobile

Beautiful path to a nice waterfall. The seal pups has moved to the sea before march. But you can still se the pups on the ohura lookout point ca 500 meters from the waterfall. Dolphines is visable from the lookout too.
