Description: Nins Bin was first estabilished in November 1977 as a roadside caravan selling fresh local crayfish. Still to this day it offers just that, right next to the beach for an ulitmate New Zealand experience.Only a 20minute drive north of the Kaikoura Township, it is a perfect stop off point to either dine in or take a crayfish away for your enjoyment later on!

We're heading to Kaikoura Whale Watch and decided to drop by Nin's Bin to fill up our stomach for lunch. The crayfish and mussels are simply awesome! We tried the crayfish cold with lemon and warm with butter, both are amazing. With a beautiful weather we had and seated overlooking the ocean, it should be one of the enjoyment in life. Gotta go back again someday!

Cute place, cool location. Yummy chips! A bit pricey but that's to be expected in such a touristy spot.

Fresh crayfish & green-lipped mussels from the fisherman's catch of the day. Crayfish was sold by weight, with the price written on its tail. So pick your choice, and with a great weather, you are able to sit & dine beside the sea. Is lovely.

Got here a little late in the day so the selection of crayfish was limited, and strangely beer, soda and even bottled water was sold out. We shared a lobster, preparation is simple but good. Nice to sit down and enjoy the lobster in a stunning outdoor setting. A couple complaints, the tables were dirty, owner a little surly, and $12 extra for garlic butter seemed a bit excessive. If the lobster weren't so good I would have only given them three stars.

Having been up and down the SH1 on previous trips to NZ but never stopped at a crayfish shack I vowed to do it this time and boy we were not disappointed . crayfish sold on weight and we had with garlic butter and chips perfect even the rain couldn't detract from it - my only wish that I had stopped on previous trips and it will be a sure thing for future trips.
