“What a great spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2011

If you like outdoor dining give the town a miss and dine here, we had
two huge crayfish and fresh mussels here and they tasted just great
and were so fresh I think the Kaikoura crayfish taste so much better
than our local Perth crays.
This is just such a nice spot to enjoy a fresh crayfish

“Best crayfish ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2011

What an unusual place in a fantastic location!!! Delicious crayfish with or without garlic butter. Very fresh. The place is very clean. The lady behind the counter was very friendly. Mussels are very cheap, only $12, crayfish around $60. The views are amazing!!!

“Simply the best atmosphere EVER and crayfish tasty too!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2011

Your trip to New Zealand will not be complete without a stop here. If you are driving up the coast from Kaikoura, or even if you are only staying in Kaikoura, you must venture 20-30 minutes north to Nin's Bin. This was one of two roadside food trailers--Cay's was closed--where you walk in, pick the crayfish that you want from a fresh caught bunch sitting on ice, and then enjoy your meal at a picnic table with a panoramic view of the ocean that goes forever. You might find better crayfish, which basically looks and tastes like lobster some day, but you will never find a better place to eat on this planet. As for the crayfish, it was dirt cheap (NZ$40) for a whole one, sweeter tasting than lobster and easier to crack open. Get the garlic butter if you can. It was barely noticeable yet definitely added good flavor.
