“Seals North & South”
Reviewed November 28, 2011

Go to the peninsular to the south but still in town for seals on the rocks and a little climb up for the views. Heading north about 20 to 25 km for seals at Ohau Point and walk up the creek to the waterfall where seal pups play.

“up close.”
Reviewed November 28, 2011

this is a great way of walking with Seal's within reaching distance - although you don't want to get too close. These seal's are used to humans but are still wild and might not like you getting too close.
Wonderful place to get close to wildlife without having to walk far!

“Seals everywhere.”
Reviewed November 27, 2011

You don't have to go far to find a seal. Some were even sleeping in the parking lot, under the bushes, and under the boardwalk!

“Spot them if you can”
Reviewed November 24, 2011

Interesting to have a seal colony on the bed by the side of the road. Surprisingly, it took some careful observation to spot the furry creatures amongst the rocks. There's also the Peninsular seal colony at the other end of Kaikoura where you can get even closer to the seals.
