Somewhat amazed to find Indonesian food in such small city as Kaikoura. Food is super good, had lamb shank, Chicken satay, and homemade fish and chips for the kids. Garlic bread is one the best I ever had. Must try whenever you are in Kaikoura.

I think the owner are from Indonesia and therefore the menu are quite innovative. Big portion but a bit expensive. We was told they are famous of the crayfish but for me nothing special. We prefer other seafood taken.

Thank you for the review, we are from Christmas Island Indian Ocean (Australia) and from the UK,
Our food is mostly seafood's, lamb and beef cooked western style but some meals are Asian fusion, we also do Singaporean/Indonesian style curries and other dishes including vegetarian.
In general our meals are priced much the same as other restaurants in Kaikoura and provincial New Zealand but I can understand your concern at the high prices charged for crayfish but this is beyond our control as we are having to pay high export prices which sometimes exceed $110 per kg the crayfish served at Tuti's is larger in size than most restaurants which we feel is better value for money.
Sorry that the style of cooking the crayfish did not suit your tastes but If you happen to call in again you or any of your friends or other customers can have crayfish cooked Spicy Singaporean/Indonesian style (Udang Bumbu Bali) on request.

Kind regards

Peter McGovern

Amazing food from start to finish. The garlic bread was some of the best I've ever had so got some more, great strong flavour. I had the fish of the day which was flounder, beautifully cooked with a buttery garlic topping adding that extra kick. My wife had the Akaroa salmon which was really nice and I don't usually like salmon. Would defiantly come back here again, this place is amazing, more people need to get here rather than just looking around the main town!!

Thanks very much for your review, we're so pleased that you enjoyed your meals, Tuti always uses freshly crushed garlic, Marlborough Flaky Sea Salt and the freshest of ingredients to give the meals that extra special taste.
The top quality Akaroa Salmon is always cooked with a temperature probe to ensure perfection.
We look forward to seeing you again.

Kind regards
