Alpine-Pacific Holiday Park
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed December 14, 2012

We rented a powered site at Alpine Pacific in early December. It was easy to find and only a short distance away from the hubbub of The Esplanade. I thought the toilet and shower facilities were very clean, spacious, and up to date. It looked like they had a nice area to BBQ and picnic as well. I won't give it the fifth star only because the powered sites are located in a stark grid fashion with no bush or trees for privacy. But I would recommend it and would be happy to stay again there.

Alpine Pacific Holiday Park is a great place to stay! The whole campground prides itself on cleanliness and providing a wonderful, relaxing environment. The bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor BBQ areas are well appointed and the pool/spa pools are delightful. The views are amazing and the park like settings make you feel very welcome and comfortable.

Probably the best equipped facility for a camper van powered hook up that we have come across so far in our trip from North Island to South Island and ideally located for both Kaikoura town (small but very pretty) and WHALE WATCHING. Local eateries are plentiful and close by, as is the New World supermarket.

To be honest, the camper van pitches were quite closely spaced. Not too tight, but almost... Oh well they need to take advantage, don't they?

Showers and toilets and the kitchen facilities are impeccably clean. They have a nice small outdoor pool that is most refreshing (not cold!). My only grouse is that their BBQ facility is payable (via a cash meter) which is the first time that we have come across this in NZ :-( .

Room Tip: All sites will have a great view of the mountains.

We stayed in an ensuite Chalet, the room is clean, modern design and well equip. But the room and bath room is really small. We have only 2 adults and 2 small kids in our family, we already feel very cramp, just imagine if your team have 4 adults.

We stayed in an ensuite chalet which was comfortable with a very modern bathroom and we had our own private picnic table outside and which to sit and look at the lovely views.

We also used the hot tub and the swimming both were both clean and well mantained.

The location is right on SH1 but it's still a very quiet place to stay which is good plus it's only a ten minute walk to the town centre.

I also stayed here on a previous trip in a campervan and thought it was such a good location and value for money that i returned.

The owner is friendly and helpful, though I already heard that there's no shower toiletries provided, they still get hairdryer for me when I requested. The room is exactly like the picture on the website, very nice wooden design, except my boy friend doesn't like the fix shower head (non-detachble), is worth to stay, comes with tower heater, electric bed and clean sharing kitchen. Comparing to some famous holiday parks, we prefer this cosy and small park.

We camped at the Alpine Pacific a couple of weekends ago, what a great place. The facilites were clean and tidy, there was heaps of space in the camp kitchen for several families and groups to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool had just been opened for the summer and my son spent most of our three days there getting in any chance he could get. I found the spas more to my temperature!
Good upselling when the manager prompted us to purchase a holiday park card, which we'll definitely use.
Grounds were clean and organised.
Close to supermarket, bottle store, cafes, and not far to walk to the main street of Kaikoura.
Just lovely.
