We stayed in the (spotlessly clean) cottage, which had a beautiful interior with good quality furnishings, and had a very comfortable night's stay.
Our host welcomed us on arrival then was unobtrusive the rest of our stay. We had shopped at the supermarket in Hokitika and cooked for ourselves - the kitchen was very well equipped, just like you would expect at home!
We had plenty of amazing views throughout our trip so didn't mind not having a view this night, and enjoyed having the outdoor table. It was lovely having space to spread ourselves in the cottage after living in motel rooms, and great to have washing and drying facilities. It's not in the centre of the town so was peaceful and it was interesting to be staying in a residential area. Could have made ourselves truly at home and stayed for longer!
