As we drove south down the coastal highway I could see this house overlooking the sea and was hoping it was going to be our B and B and it was. Jan had upgraded us to one of the units separate from the house and it was lovely. Large, well furnished and views to die for. We too did the beach walk and the waves were amazing ( maybe a preview of the upcoming storm). Jan was great as a hostess and, yes, wifi connection wasn't great but that was a small price to pay for a B and B with eggs Benedict on the breakfast menu. I would recommend this accommodation without any hesitation. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Thank you for your lovely review - I especially like how you saw us from afar and hoped it was us. It was a pleasure to meet you both and I'm just sorry we couldn't accommodate you for one more night on your trip back up the West Coast. Look forward to seeing you back one day though - never say never! Warm regards Jan

We were looking forward to meeting Jan after receiving her welcoming e-mails and tips for places to visit along the way. A warm welcome and home made muffins, then down to the wonderful wild beach for a walk. The rooms were comfortable and warm, with a stunning view.
Breakfast was perfect and we left with a printed itinerary of sites to take in along the way. We stopped off at several and they were indeed very good recommendations. Thanks!

Thanks Marion and family for your lovely review. Very happy to hear you found all the sightseeing suggestions useful for the remainder of your journey down the West Coast. Hope you all enjoyed your time down south and did get some skiing in too. Warm regards Jan

From the moment we booked, Jan was the ultimate hostess! She provided insider tips to help us explore NZ which proved to make our trip extra special and adventurous!

Driving along the coast you hardly think you'll find a place to stay along the stunning cliffs and beach, but then Breakers pops out of nowhere! The accommodation itself is just lovely and our room had absolutely gorgeous views of the ocean. Nice big comfy bed, spacious bathroom, and the home cooked brekkie to order made us want to linger and chat with Jan! :)

We didn't have enough time to explore the beach, but from the looks of it you can't find a better spot. Access to the beach is right outside your door... and there is lots to explore! We arrived around dinner time, and Jan recommended the local pub for a burger... Man were those burgers divine! We could hardly get our mouths around them they were so big and juicy. YUM!

Would definitely recommend this charming B&B!

Room tip: We stayed in the "garden annex building" and had a little more privacy that way as the other two rooms are in the main house.

We were recommended this accommodation by a friend of a friend and our only regret during our recent stay was that we didn't book in for longer. One night here is simply not enough as the location is superb with lots to see and do locally and fantastic hospitality from Jan our host. We were made very welcome and enjoyed an evening meal provided by Jan and even an ice cream to enjoy on the private beach. We were also very impressed with the information sheet given to us on our departure with lots of stopping off places to enjoy on our journey to our next destination. A first class service from Jan who is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about her surroundings and indeed her country. A great find and we hope to return.

Breakers boutique is all about the view, the beach walk & Jan, the host. She welcomes you with the warmth & passion of a person who loves her job, her beach, her dogs and her homeland. Her local knowledge is impressive. Homemade scones & jam on arrival.
Our room upstairs (stairs only) had magnificent views of the Tasman, and a private balcony. We were too exhausted to drive anywhere else for dinner, at short notice Jan managed to supply us with a bottle of wine & homemade pizza which is usually only on offer during the peak season, we were grateful.
The room was warm, and on appearance the bed & pillows looked hard but were surprisingly very comfortable. Rainwater delicious! Internet signal poor.
And coffee in the morning too weak for us, and breakfast area a bit chilly (no fire) but Jan continued to fill out short visit with all the attention and care, a devoted host.
