“Good steak”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

Great ten day aged steak on the bone (not a T-bone) well cooked and plenty of salad and chips to go with it. I forgot they only had Speight's beer, but it was OK. Reasonably priced typical Speight's Ale house decor.

“Quite good”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Not the most amazing meal ever, but the food was well good and presented. The surroundings were well laid out with enough gap between the diners and those wanting to watch the rugby and drink. Wait staff very friendly and helpful.
my steak was cooked to perfection, so a good place to eat, but not the widest selection of food

“Mediocre”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

The ambiance is nice enough. The greating was warm and friendly. Visits to other restraurants in this chain have been reasonably positive, good quality pub food.

I ordered seafood chowder. It was ok, but could have been anything. When the server took away the dishes I reminded her I had ordered a glass of wine. They had forgotten.
The Blue and Gold blue cod would have been more accurately descibed as "batter and chips". I set about cutting the batter off. It really "crunched". One bit flew across the table. I was reminded of my old Dad's saying, "If yoou fell on that you could skin your nees!" Still the chips weredone well and the salad was crisp and fresh. However the over riding taste was of "deep fryer".

Better meals can be had in Greymouth for the same amount of $.

“Good and Bad”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

Have been here a lot. Have had a mix of good and bad meals, most times the service has been pretty bad, one time we even had to go to the counter to order our meals and drinks after waiting over 30 min to see a waiter. most the time the food has been good but have had moldy bread served to us. it was replaced but we still had to pay for it.Overall the majority of meals have been good. They have a good menu and are reasonably priced with good size portions.

“Good menu”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

The menu is varied and easily read. With breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. A bit different in decor etc which is really nice.m Staff always helpful, great place to have a couple of drinks or a bit to eat as well as a full meal.
