“Needs a HUGE Upgrade or new owners!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2011

We had a great camping position within a few metres from the super beach but that was the best part. Showers were filthy and in the strangest position - in the common room or the car park! Flax around our campsite needed a trim. Swimming pool a murky blue - did not allow my children to swim in it. Female owner is quite offish. The camp is in the perfect spot just a pity about the facilities. Don't think we will be back.

We appreciate that not everyone likes our style of camping, but comments about filthy showers are uncalled for - campers are the ones who make them filtthy. They are cleaned daily, with checks made during day and what we find is often disgusting, despite notices requesting that they be left clean for the next camper and that mops are provided for this purpose. Hate to think how some people live at home! This was a school and authorities did not provide showers in the toilet blocks for the children, unsurprisingly, and as Council will not allow us to build anything on the property such as shower blocks or cabins we did the best we could by putting them to one side of the hall. We also had to provide another shower to cope with large numbers in summer so put a moveable one on the grass, close to the tent sites by a power and water supply, which has a great deal of use.

The swimming pool is emptied and cleaned regularly and is chlorinated every night when in use during the busy holiday season. Other times it is left as a source of water for the local firefighters and of course it gets discoloured with lack of use. I have often been thanked for my care of campers and my helpfulness so wonder just what it was this camper did - it cuts both ways !

We stay one night in this place and it was the worst we had in 20 days in New Zealand. The room was humid and filthy. Hot like hell in the day, cold in the night

Give it a miss
