My friend and I stayed in the apartment for two nights this January just gone and had an absolutely lovely time. Wendy and Urbi are so friendly, helpful and full of local knowledge - we saw a few fantastic sights on their recommendation that we would have missed otherwise. The accommodation is clean and very cosy and comfortable, everything you could possibly want is there at your disposal, including a great DVD library. Wendy's breakfasts and Urbi's rocket fuel coffee are definitely not to be missed!

When you travel for 30 + hours from the UK to NZ and travel another 2-3 hrs from AKL Intl airport, the Whangarei Views Bed & Breakfast was a very welcome sight. Even more so, when Wendy and Urbi came out to the driveway to meet us and welcome us. This was our first time to NZ and a great introduction to Kiwi hosptiality. We had freshly brewed coffee on arrival and got our bearings and extra inside information on the area from Wendy and Urbi, whilst sitting in the wonderful lounge with panoramic views of the town below and surrounding countryside vista. On both evenings and mornings we also were given extra advice on what to do/see in the area and further afield. Breakfasts were wonderful and recommend a two day stay for those flying in from long haul, because it took us a lot longer than expected to get used to the jet lag. The warm bedroom, comfy big bed and hot and powerful power shower helped to ease the jet lag too. The breakfasts on both days, certainly set us up for the day, pikelets (mini pancakes) were made to order, as was the freshly ground coffee, fresh fruits and youghurts and also ask Wendy for a copy of the receipe for the home made muesli, scrumptious (Ive made a number of batches since returning to the UK). Wendy and Urbi also gave us extra driving notes and tips for the area and for our other travel destinations throughout the North and South island. As we were starting out on our hols, we did not avail of the drying room or washing machine/dryer that was on site for guests use also. We certainly enjoyed our stay with Wendy and Urbi. We would highly recommend Whangarei Views to any other travellers intending to use Whangarei as a base to travel from for their knowledgable hosts, great breakfasts, wonderful surroundings and just a great introduction to New Zealand hospitality. Thanks also to the previous guests who listed their recommendations onto Tripadvisor as this is why we chose to stay with Wendy and Urbi in the first place !

Our stay at the Whangarei Views B&B was so wonderful that it became one of the highlights of our visit to New Zealand. We were impressed with Wendy's friendliness and thoughtfulness ever since our first inquiry email. She not only sent us detailed driving directions, but also suggested scenic stops along the way; she also provided us with a suggested itinerary and offered to book local sightseeing trips/restaurants for us. Upon our arrival we found a very clean, comfortable, and spacious house perched high on a hill with views of the Whangarei Valley. Wendy and Urbi were very warm, friendly, and informative hosts. We especially enjoyed our daily chat with them about local culture, politics, and travel stories over our delicious breakfast. My entire family ranging from 6 year old to 70 year old loved our visit and stay at the Whangarei Views B&B, and we can't wait to get back there again!

Our first stop in New Zealand after arriving from the US was Wendy and Urbi's B&B. We could not have picked a better place to stay. Even though we were tired from the flight and drive up, Wendy and Urbi immediately revived our spirts with their welcoming hospitality and much needed refreshments. They were extremely helpful in getting us acclimated to our new surroundings. They provided us with various possible day trips to take as well as arranging our tour of Ninety Mile Beach. Wendy took us on a tour of the surrounding area and was a wealth of knowledge regarding the native plant life. The location was perfect as it overlooks Whangarei and is close to the town but far enough away that you don't feel like you are in a big town. We truly appreciated the personal attention that they gave us, and they certainly made us feel right at home in their home. We cannot thank Urbi enough for helping us out with our computer problem. He saved the day for us. Thanks again, Wendy & Urbi for getting our vacation off to a great start.
